The Moto G 5G (2022) is inching closer to its 2nd anniversary, and while its internals may be dated today, it is still a capable budget Android smartphone. If you own one and do not plan to replace it anytime soon, you can spruce it up by grabbing a new case. This will give your phone a new look while still offering the required protection, so it can continue to serve you.
Motorola releases 3 new budget phones with some unique twists
It's not likely you'll find some of these features for these prices
Part of the reason Motorola has been successful for as long as it has is because of its reach across all worldwide markets when it comes to releasing smartphones. Motorola creates phones that fit many people’s needs across various financial backgrounds and technological uses. In August, we saw rumors and leaks regarding some upcoming Moto G budget phones and their specs. Today, Motorola confirmed those rumors and announced three phones that will hit the European market with the Moto G84, Moto G54 and Moto G54 Power.
Latest Moto leak offers a peek at specs and colors coming to a new budget model
Another month, another mid-range Motorola phone
Motorola has a knack for pumping out budget and mid-range phones, releasing slightly different versions of them in the various worldwide markets each year. While the recently-released Moto Edge+ has made us take Motorola a bit more seriously once again, it continues to offer cheaper choices throughout its lineup. This seemingly will continue with the Motorola G54 5G, which recently had its specifications leaked.
Get 256GB of storage for under $200 with this half-off Moto G 5G deal
That's an all-time low price on one of Motorola's best budget phones
When shopping around for something like a budget Android phone, conventional wisdom says that the lower in price you go, the more you have to start sacrificing things like features and performance. That's not necessarily the case with the Moto G 5G. It features the 8-core Dimensity 700 processor, 6GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage, and right now it's on sale for just $200.
Moto G Stylus (2022) review: Motorola's true flagship
Motorola's most important phone needs some work

Motorola is no stranger to making budget-friendly phablets with a stylus—the new Moto G Stylus is the company’s third such phone in recent years, and this seems like another competent entry in that nearly nonexistent category. This model has some nice-to-have features that are usually skipped in flagships, like a microSD slot and a headphone jack, as well as increasingly common features in the budget segment, like a fingerprint reader and a 90Hz display.
Latest Moto G Stylus 2022 report suggests Motorola has not learned its lesson about Android updates
Talk about outdated
We were first introduced to the Moto G Stylus in 2020 as part of Motorola's refreshed mid-range lineup. While it's otherwise a fairly forgettable budget phone, the inclusion of a stylus — along with excellent battery life and near-stock Android — made for a very compelling package compared to similar devices in the US. Unsurprisingly, a new model is on the way for 2022, with some new leaked specs and software info providing some exciting — and disappointing — facts about the company's successor.

You gotta give credit to Motorola: it keeps on trucking, even when other manufacturers have fallen behind. While companies like LG — once a mainstay of the Android realm — has given up on new smartphones, Moto releases countless new devices each year. Today, the company announced new additions to the ever-growing G-series, including its most powerful entry yet.
The Moto G Power (2022) is Motorola's first budget phone with a 90Hz display
With a North American caveat to that claim
Forget about the holiday season — Motorola is jumping straight through to 2022 by announcing the newest edition in its Moto G Power series.
Americans seem to have a soft spot in their hearts for the Motorola brand — with the demise of LG's mobile business, it's essentially #3 in the U.S. smartphone market. Most of those purchases come from the successful Moto G series which usually sit around the $200 level. But does that history favor the newest and most basic G phone? It could have. It probably should have. The surprising answer, however, is "no."
With the Moto G Pure, Motorola makes $160 go farther than last year
Coming everywhere very, very soon
Motorola's budget phones really do get around. Whether it's a Moto G or a Moto E, they're a popular standout at carrier stores that cuts between the richer Samsung and Apple devices. And it just so happens that we have a new one landing this month that changes several major things about what the Lenovo-owned manufacturer has been doing in a very specific price category.

We've clearly got a little bias on the subject, but Android has a long and storied history filled with its own triumphs and pitfalls. It's been well over a decade now since that first HTC G1 landed, the inaugural Android smartphone, and things have changed drastically since then. Being "first" might make you think the G1 was the most influential Android phone — but was it, really?
In addition to the weirdly expensive Moto G100, Motorola is officially dropping three more phones in the G series today. They all appear to be based on the same 6.5-inch chassis, but with remixed internals to create different price points. The G10, G30, and G50 will be rolling out to various international markets over the next few weeks.
Motorola's latest G-series phone is its most powerful ever, with a price tag to match
The Moto G100, with its Snapdragon 870 processor, goes on sale today
Motorola's G-series is known for being economical, cramming in everything you need and nothing you don't. But it looks like Moto is trying to expand its horizons. The new G100 is easily the most powerful, feature-packed phone ever to hit the series, including a high-end Snapdragon 870 chip and Motorola's new Ready For video out system. Even so, it's kept near the upper end of the mid-range price spectrum.

There's something about using a stylus that's just incredibly compelling. Sure, touchscreen hardware and finger-tracking algorithms are so good that few of us really need a stylus to successfully interact with mobile screens, but that hasn't stopped a few select handsets from bundling one in — and those have become some of the most popular models you'll find. While Samsung's Note range sits comfortably at the top of the food chain with its active tracking and Bluetooth features, there's also a lot of demand for budget-friendly stylus phones like the LG Stylo series. Now Motorola's back with another of its own, upgrading the Moto G Stylus for 2021. Does this model strike the right balance between affordability and functionality? And more importantly, how satisfying is its stylus experience?

Motorola's Moto G lineup has been creeping up in price and features for a while now, and last year, the company tried something different. Moto released two G phones in the United States (and some other regions), the G Power and G Stylus. The latter was equipped with a passive stylus, making it a competitor against the LG Stylo series, and now Motorola is working on a super-sized sequel.
Motorola gives new Moto G9 Power the biggest battery it's ever put in a phone
There's also a new Moto G with 5G connectivity
Big batteries are always in style, and Motorola seems to have taken that to heart with its newest phones. The Moto G 5G and Moto G9 Power both have large capacities, but the G9 Power includes the largest cell that the company has ever included in a device, with claims of lasting for up to 60 hours on a single charge.
Despite our fascination with all things Google-made this week, other phones do continue to exist. The newest devices in Motorola's mid-range G series, expected to launch later this month, have cropped up in some new leaks, showing off a triple rear camera setup headlined by a 48-megapixel sensor.
LineageOS is one of the most popular custom ROMs available, with somewhere around two million active installations. It typically takes a while for the project to update to newer versions of Android, since development is largely done by maintainers in their spare time. Six months after the public release of Android 9 Pie, it looks like LineageOS is about ready to make the jump — but not before dropping older devices.
Motorola is yet to launch a new phone in 2018, a further sign that the once thriving OEM is becoming less and less relevant in the mobile industry. While the successor to last year's poorly-received Moto X4 has apparently been scrapped, we know that new Moto G devices are on the way, likely to go on sale in mid-May. Now we have a potential date for the launch.
