Winning a $450 bounty and the hearts of Droid RAZR/MAXX users, Dan Rosenberg has found a successful root method for the phone's 4.1 JellyBean OTA, which began rolling out last Christmas Eve.
Some readers are likely familiar with Mr. Rosenberg's work, as he's rooted everything in sight from the Droid RAZR/MAXX HD to the RAZR M, all the way back to the LG Spectrum. As a security researcher, he's even given (and published) a helpful presentation on rooting and modding for the security conscious. Read More
It may not be all that often that a phone over a year old will still be getting many updates, but lo and behold, it's a Festivus miracle. Users are reporting that the original Droid RAZR/RAZR MAXX is currently seeing an update roll out to Jelly Bean (4.1.2) right now. And to think, this phone launched with Gingerbread.
The update is 331.7MB, so you'll want to get on WiFi before you start the download. Read More
Update: Amazon just updated the deals and dropped many of the prices down for customers looking to upgrade. For example, the RAZR M is now also just a penny for those renewing.
If you're looking to abandon your existing carrier and move to Big Red, then the RAZR M is a great phone to choose for the transition. And now you can grab it from Amazon Wireless for only a penny (Black, White). Read More
If you were under a rock (or at work) while Motorola was announcing its three new phones today, you might have missed out on the live video presentation. Now you can watch it on YouTube.
If you're looking for the nitty gritty, though, you should check out our announcement posts for the RAZR HD / MAXX HD and the RAZR M. Read More
It's nothing new to see Amazon Wireless undercutting the brick and mortar mobile phone shops, but this slew of newly announced deals is fairly good. Some of the top selling phones, several of them still brand new, are on sale for anyone signing up as a new customer.
The Motorola Droid Razr is the oldest phone among the bunch, having come out late last year. It is also the only Verizon deal being offered; although $0.01 isn't bad. Read More
Verizon just posted on its official blog
that the rollout is slated to begin today, June 22.
Verizon has just uploaded the official support documents for the RAZR / RAZR MAXX Ice Cream Sandwich update (which by the way will be build 6.16.211 – the same build that recently leaked). With the docs going live just moments ago, users should expect the update to officially start rolling out any day now. Read More
Amazon has just lowered the price of the RAZR MAXX to a staggeringly-low $99 for new customers (it's $199 for upgrades). Check it out here. This is by far the lowest price we've seen on this device (previous low was $149), so if you were waiting for it on the cheap, now's the time to grab it.

Been thinking about switching over to Big Red? Amazon Wireless has a good deal for you: the Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX for $150. Aside from the Galaxy Nexus, the MAXX is the only other device on VZW at the moment I feel comfortable recommending to people looking for an upgrade, and $150 is a pretty good deal.
If you want to make it an even better deal, though, you should buy it today. Read More
Update 4/23/12: This update is now rolling out OTA (thanks, Kristopher and others).
It's been a bit of a disappointing ride for the Droid RAZR and its beefier brother over the last few weeks - first, we were told that the ICS update was to start rolling out on April 4th, but that didn't happen. Instead, Moto was going to start a soak test of a new enhancement build, but... Read More
Last week, we got word from a Best Buy tipster that ICS updates would be rolling out to the Droid RAZR/MAXX on April 4th and the HTC Rezound on April 6th. If you've checked the calendar lately, then you're probably aware that today is April 5th - one day later than ICS was supposed to hit the RAZR Twins. Still, that OTA is nowhere in sight (soak test details for the RAZRs did surface yesterday, but it wasn't ICS). Read More
