Pick up one of Mobvoi's TicWatch wearables for less than a good pair of sneakers
Choose between a last-gen Wear OS watch and a budget fitness tracker
If you've been shopping for a new smartwatch to pair with your Android phone, one name has probably kept appearing over and over again. Mobvoi's entire TicWatch lineup is routinely called the best wearable tech for fans of Google's mobile OS, but with one major catch: the price. If you're looking for a quality fitness tracker for your phone but don't want to break the bank, two of Mobvoi's gadgets are on sale today for under $100.Of the two, the TicWatch S2 is your best bet. For just $99.99, you're getting a solid smartwatch built on some older tech that should still hold up in 2021. Although its Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor isn't the most powerful on the block, it's more than enough to keep track of your steps and display notifications throughout the day. Couple that with 512MB of RAM and a 5 ATM waterproof rating, and you're looking at a decent entry-level watch at its lowest price yet.
Mobvoi just released the new TicWatch 3 Pro, which is (by most accounts) the best Wear OS smartwatch you can buy right now. While that model isn't on sale, Mobvoi has discounted all of its other smartwatches by as much as 33%, but the sales end today. The cheapest model up for grabs is the TicWatch S2 for $125.99 ($54 off), an older Snapdragon Wear 2100 watch with 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, 5ATM water resistance, and a heart rate sensor. You won't get an amazing Wear OS experience with that hardware, but it's enough to check notifications from your wrist. The TicWatch S2 Pro for $146.99 ($63 off) is a better value, with its 1GB RAM and NFC support for Google Pay, but still uses the ancient Wear 2100 SoC.

The majority are smartwatches with a pretty decent 25% off discount, but you'll also find the TicPods Free discounted at a pretty bewildering 62% off.

Thanks to this deal on Mobvoi's smartwatches, you can save between 15 to 20% on four models, which range from $136 to $250 depending on your needs. The range includes the E2 and S2 models, which are the most affordable and designed with fitness in mind. They both have built-in GPS capability and heart rate monitors. The S2 is more rugged thanks to its MIL-STD 810G rating and built with extreme outdoor sports in mind. The two devices feature proactive fitness tracking, which automatically starts recording activity based on your activity, without the need to manually touch your watch. Lastly, they're both water-resistant up to 50 meters underwater.
Amazon Prime Day is still chugging along for the next day or so, so maybe you're still finding something worthwhile to buy. Maybe you'd like to cover up your wrist with something smart? How about a Ticwatch? Mobvoi has discounted its Wear OS smartwatches by 30% for the big sitewide sale and there are pretty decent timepieces to scavenge from here.
The TicWatch S2 debuted alongside the cheaper E2 early this year. At $179.99, the S2 was already pretty fairly priced, but Mobvoi is now offering a massive 50% discount on its new "Glacier" color. If you've been on the hunt for a cheap Wear OS watch that isn't a million years old, this should definitely pique your interest.
Smartwatches aren't quite the product category that some thought (or hoped) they would be, but that hasn't stopped some companies from continuing to expand and improve their offerings. Take Mobvoi, the makers of the TicWatch line, for example, which has just announced pricing and immediate availability for its new TicWatch E2 and TicWatch S2.Powered by the Snapdragon Wear 2100 and Wear OS, both watches share quite a bit in common. They have the same sensors, GPS capabilities, batteries, water-resistance rating, and the newly-announced TicMotion suite of AI-powered fitness features. They both sport a 5 ATM water-resistance rating, which means that the watches can survive underwater up to 50m. Neither has NFC for use with Google Pay.Left: TicWatch E2; Right: TicWatch S2
Chinese AI firm Mobvoi has been a shining light in the generally underwhelming Android Wear/Wear OS space, and today it's announcing two new products. The TicWatch E2 and S2 (standing for Express and Sport) are follow-ups to the company's most affordable smartwatches, with updated designs, bigger batteries, and Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 chips (but not the new 3100).
