[Edit: Deal Over] Unlocked LG G4 Available For $349.95 At B&H, But Only For The Next Few Hours

The LG G4 is still a fine device, even though the G5 is expected to be unveiled in the not too distant future. The price of this device is getting pretty compelling, and the sale going on at B&H Photo right now makes it hard to pass up. You can grab an unlocked LG G4 for a mere $349.95, which is $100 less than B&H usually sells it for. You'll have to move quickly, though.

LG's Factory Reset Protection Can Be Bypassed In Mere Minutes

Google added factory reset protection to Android in Lollipop 5.1 last year, but not all devices implement Android in exactly the same way. That has led to some potential methods to bypass the account check. "RootJunky" already managed to find a workaround for Samsung phones, and now there's one for LG devices as well. It only takes a few minutes to get around factory reset protection.

The Sprint LG G4 Starts Getting An Update To Android 6.0 Marshmallow

When Google released the Marshmallow source code, many manufacturers were quick to jump on the news and start announcing updates to their flagships. In mid-October, LG started rolling out the android OTA in Poland first as a test, with promises to expand to other countries and operators later.

Now that update is ready for the US and Sprint is the first operator to get it. On its support page for the device, Sprint says the update was available yesterday, December 17th. It's rolling out as software version LS991ZV9 with Marshmallow and Sprint Global Roaming. There'll be a lot waiting for you when you jump from Lollipop 5.1 to Marshmallow 6.0, including app permissions, the new floating text selection toolbar with options to expand it through Google Translate or Wikipedia, better external storage integration that should be handy with the G4's MicroSD slot, and so much more.

[Finally] Verizon LG G4 Getting Major OTA With Touchscreen Fixes And Other Goodies

If you're an LG G4 owner on Verizon, you may have heard about all the drama surrounding the phone's "touchscreen fix update" that has since rolled out on every other US carrier. Back on October 9, Big Red began rolling out this OTA as firmware VS98612A, but it was pulled two days later due to a major bug affecting the device's ability to receive push notifications while connected to Wi-Fi. A month-and-a-half later, Verizon and LG seem to have gotten their stuff together, and have now released a new OTA which shouldn't have the same problems that the original 12A update had. In

Android 6.0 Firmware For The LG G4 Posted On XDA (H815 Model), Recovery Flash Available

It was only a little over a week ago that we heard that LG was planning a surprisingly quick update to Android 6.0 for its flagship G4 phone, beginning with Poland and expanding out to other territories. We haven't heard anything about an official rollout just yet, but someone's managed to get their hands on a Marshmallow build for the international unlocked version of the G4, model number H815. A KDZ file appeared on the forum yesterday, and it's been adapted into flashable files for users with the TWRP custom recovery already.

We haven't heard of any official over-the-air 6.0 updates for the G4, but the 20A build posted by "autoprime" appears to be a release version or very close to it.
