LineageOS is one of the most popular custom Android ROMs available, with over two million active installations. The project officially ended support for the 14.1 (Android 7.1) branch a few days ago, in preparation for LineageOS 16. The 16.0 branch is finally rolling out, and it's bringing Android 9 Pie to dozens of phones and tablets.

Huawei's EMUI 9.0 update, which was announced a few months ago, has begun rolling out. The update, which moves phones from Oreo to Pie, boasts of a simplified UI, new gesture navigation, and HiVision 'AI' features. The Mate 20 was the only Huawei phone with EMUI 9.0 so far, though other phones have been able to run a beta with Android Pie.

The Honor View10 is one of Huawei's best phones from this year. It's priced like a mid-range phone, but it has a flagship-level Kirin 970 processor and other high-end hardware. The phone has once again gone on sale, this time for $379.99 ($120 off). The model being sold is equipped with a Kirin 970 processor, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage (with microSD expansion), and an 18:9 1080p IPS display. There are three cameras — a front-facing 13MP lens, a 16MP rear-facing camera, and a 20MP monochrome rear camera (which helps with processing). The phone will only work on GSM networks, like AT&T and T-Mobile, and it should get Android 9.0 Pie soon (the European version already has it). You can read our full review here. The phone is currently $15 more than it was on Black Friday, but it's still a heck of a deal. B&H has both the 'Navy Blue' and 'Midnight Black' colors on sale, while Amazon only has Navy Blue. Keep in mind that the phone can no longer be bootloader-unlocked, as of May 24th.Source: B&H Photo, Amazon

There are quite a few "budget flagships" at the $500 price point these days, and they're all pretty good phones. The Huawei-made Honor View10 is one of them, and it's been discounted by $70 to $429.99 at Amazon, HiHonor, and Newegg from now until September 2nd.The Honor View10 comes with a 5.99" 1080p IPS display, Huawei's excellent Kirin 970, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage with microSD expansion, a 20MP+16MP dual rear camera setup, a 13MP front-facing camera, and a 3,750mAh battery. It also has a very fast fingerprint sensor and a headphone jack.

Pre-orders for the $499 Honor View10 opened on March 12th, and Huawei initially stated that orders would begin to ship out on March 22nd. It turns out that Huawei's estimate was a bit off, though; the HiHonor site is now saying that Honor View10 orders will begin to ship today, March 23rd.

In a "finally" moment, Huawei announced that the Honor View10 is coming to the United States. Available today for pre-order from the Honor store, the View10 comes in either black or blue for $499.

TeamWin Recovery Project, or TWRP for short, is an invaluable tool for anyone looking to mod their device - from installing ROMs to simply making backups. The last time we covered the project earlier this month, it had started supporting the Moto Z2 Force, Redmi 5A, and several other phones.

Now that Huawei's plans of selling phones on US carriers have fallen apart, the company appears to be trying something different - appealing to hardcore Android enthusiasts looking for inexpensive phones. OnePlus is easily the leader in that niche, after Google stopped selling its budget-friendly Nexus phones. The Honor View10 (Honor is a sub-brand of Huawei) is already targeting OnePlus, and now the company is helping community developers create ROMs, recoveries, and kernels.

Huawei's been releasing Oreo betas for several of its phones, but we still haven't heard much about updates for Honor-branded devices. Now Huawei has published a list of all the devices that Oreo is being developed for. Oddly, the Honor 8 is mentioned in spite of a confirmation from Honor India on Twitter that the phone wouldn't be getting Oreo.

The mid-range flagship market has been a heated place in the last few years, with OnePlus coming out on top and filling the void that was left by the Nexus phones (6 excluded). While it may be no shocker to anyone why this is, it also shouldn't be a surprise to see some of the big players in the world take notice of OnePlus' success in this space. Cue Hua-, er, Honor with the View10, a device aimed squarely at the 5T.

Huawei’s cheaper sub-brand Honor held an event in London early December to announce the launch of not one but two new smartphones. Jordan has already reviewed the first of those, the Honor 7X, which impressed him as a contender to the Moto G5S Plus in the budget category. But Honor actually spent more time at the show talking about the View 10, its latest flagship device.

The Honor View10 will come to the United States later this year, the company announced at a press conference in Las Vegas at the CES conference tonight. Pricing and an exact release date were not announced, but on the latter, we'd place our bets on sooner rather than later.
