Netflix officially certifies 23 more phones and tablets, brings HDR to OnePlus 7/7 Pro

Due to the Netflix app's use of DRM and other restrictive technologies, not every Android phone or tablet can automatically watch movies and shows in HD. In most cases, Netflix has to certify each device for HD playback, and run additional tests to make sure HDR works. The company has now certified 23 new phones and tablets for HD playback, and brought HDR compatibility to a handful of phones.

EMUI 9.0 update with Android Pie begins global rollout

Huawei's EMUI 9.0 update, which was announced a few months ago, has begun rolling out. The update, which moves phones from Oreo to Pie, boasts of a simplified UI, new gesture navigation, and HiVision 'AI' features. The Mate 20 was the only Huawei phone with EMUI 9.0 so far, though other phones have been able to run a beta with Android Pie.

Honor Play, Huawei's gaming phone, comes to Europe and the rest of Asia

A couple of months ago, Huawei's sub-brand Honor announced the Play for China. Equipped with a Kirin 970 SoC and up to 6GB of RAM, it also featured Huawei's new GPU Turbo technology.
