There were some delays, but HTC's last-generation flagship device is getting the bump up to Android 4.2.2. Yes, AT&T has approved the OTA for its version of the HTC One X. Sadly, this will be the last new version of Android it sees. It's better than nothing, though.
We were promised an update earlier this week, and AT&T is delivering. While the HTC One X+ is never going to reach KitKat (or even Android 4.3), it is getting an update to Android 4.2.2 with Sense 5.0. The update has started hitting the first devices now, so you can begin obsessively checking for updates any time.
The HTC One X+ is the last phone of an era. It was a simpler time, back when new devices got more letters and an extra helping of punctuation rather than a simpler title that makes them harder to Google. Those of you who have a One X+ now have an official CyanogenMod ROM build to call your own, at least if you're using the international version. The first nightly has been posted to Get.CM.
HTC hasn't completely forgotten its older devices as it continues talking up the HTC One. The One X+ is finally getting an update to Android 4.2.2, which is actually newer software than the current generation One in the US runs... but that's beside the point. The OTA is hitting Taiwan first, but we've already got a full system dump and a ROM based on it.
AT&T HTC One X+ Updated To v1.19.502.1 With Bug Fixes Galore, Full ROM Download Available

Even though HTC is now focusing on its new baby (and possible savior) the HTC One, that doesn't mean the company has completely forgotten about the last generation. AT&T's HTC One X+ has just gotten an update to v1.19.502.1. Sadly, this is still Android 4.1.1, but it does fix a few nagging issues.
Update: After reaching out to HTC, we've confirmed that the statement on Facebook does in fact mean that the mentioned devices - the HTC One X, X+, S, and Butterfly - will be receiving Sense 5 in a future software update. Some features of Sense 5, though, will not be included, as they depend on specific hardware found in the HTC One.

HTC One X+ Review: A Mid-Cycle Refresh Makes A Great Phone Even Better
The HTC One X was (and still is) a fantastic device thanks to its solid hardware, but thanks to a refresh it's now even better.
The HTC One X was (and still is) a fantastic device thanks to its solid hardware, excellent build quality, and stunning display. But it's a little long in the tooth, partially because the newest high-end smartphones have both quad-core CPUs and LTE, and partially because in the smartphone world, anything that's 7 months old is (unfortunately) outdated.
November 16th is a big day over at AT&T, with three major device releases going live today (announced earlier this week). The HTC One X+, One VX, and the Samsung Galaxy Camera are all available now, so let's break it down.
The HTC One X+ is a lot like the original One X - if you stuck the One X in an awesome-machine and painted it murdered-out black, that is. And AT&T and Android Police are giving one away. You do want a One X that got stuck in an awesome-machine, don't you?
The much-awaited One X+ and VX for AT&T have finally had their availability dates hammered down - both handsets will be released this Thursday, November 16th. The X+ is HTC's refresh of its flagship One X handset, though aside from some additional memory, the first Tegra 3 processor with LTE, and a spiffy new all-black pain job, it's basically the same phon. Those upgrades are substantial, though, and should make it a serious contender this holiday season. The One X+ ships with Android 4.1 and Sense 4+, while its predecessor is still awaiting an upgrade to the same.
I had a brief hands-on with HTC's newest Android devices here at MobileCON in San Diego; specifically, the One X+ and One VX, both of which are tied down to AT&T here in the US. And the one you're probably interested in, the One X+, comes in any color you like - as long as it's black.
Even as the proud owner of an HTC One X, sometimes I find it difficult to defend the company whose handsets I really do love. The One X is a truly gorgeous piece of hardware - a unique and interesting design among a sea of relatively similar (or extremely boring) shiny plastic rectangles. It's the first Android phone design I've looked at and thought to myself, "Wow, that's really inspired." Call me a fanboy if you must, but I really do love the look of this phone. I have since I reviewed it, and I still love it now.
Well, the long-awaited (and rumored) HTC One X+ is official. HTC took the wraps off this not-so-secret handset earlier this morning, stating that it would be available in several different regions. Now, AT&T has announced that it will be the exclusive carrier of the device here in the US, and it will hit stores "in the coming months."
In its One X+ announcement, HTC also announced some changes to Sense. While none were groundbreaking (so don't expect a visual overhaul) and not a lot of details were revealed, the company did mention a few things were being upgraded.

HTC Unveils The One X+ With Sense 4+
The worst kept secret in HTC's recent history, the One X+, was finally officially announced this morning by the Taiwanese manufacturer. Let's take a closer look at what has changed.
The now-infamous @evleaks has leaked yet another upcoming smartphone today, this time a T-Mobile-branded version of what is dubbed the HTC "One X+." This phone has been rumored for some time, and even shown up in some Incredible-esque regalia, adding to the rumor that it's headed for Verizon.
