I awoke this morning to the UPS delivery guy dropping off a package at my house; lo and behold, it was a DROID Incredible 2 (Dinc2) review unit. As an EVO owner, I'm fairly familiar with what has fast become HTC's modus operandi - high quality, good price, and higher-end specs. With that in mind, I was looking forward to my time with the Dinc2, and tore into the box immediately (I didn't even put a shirt on first... Read More
It's April 28th, the official release date for the 2nd generation Droid Incredible from HTC, and if you haven't studied this phone in detail yet, you're probably wondering just what exactly has changed since the original "Dinc" entered the market last April. Let's have a look, shall we?
First and foremost, just like the Droid 2 Global Edition, the new Incredible 2 is a world phone with both CDMA and GSM frequencies. Read More
April 28th is going to be a big day at Verizon for Android lovers, as three new phones are scheduled to hit the sales floor, adding even more choices to the already vast lineup of VZW Android powered goodness.
Samsung DROID Charge
First on the list is the Samsung DROID Charge. I realize that we've known the release date for several days, but it's definitely worth mentioning again since it's the first 4G phone to carry the DROID tag and will most likely take its place as the new flagship phone for VZW. Read More
Verizon hasn't officially added the DROID Incredible 2 to its Android army yet, but don't tell Wirefly that - the online smartphone retailer just put up an unboxing video for HTC and Big Red's latest handset.
You won't find much that we didn't already know from past leaks, but the vid does provide a nice recap of the phone's specs:
- 4-inch WVGA (800x480) TFT display
- 8MP camera with dual Xenon flash
- 768MB of RAM
- 8GB micro SD card out of the box
- 3G connectivity on Verizon's EVDO Rev.
We've heard rumors that the sequel to the hugely popular HTC Droid Incredible would be hitting VZW stores on April 28th, and it looks like that date may well be the real deal. This morning, an app showcasing the Droid Incredible 2 landed in the Market, and much like the showcase app for the ThunderBolt, its sole purpose is for VZW employees to highlight tech specs.
Of course, all this really does is put us one step closer to a confirmed release date, so there's no reason I would suggest installing it. Read More
There's little that we didn't already know about HTC's upcoming DROID Incredible 2, but if there was any lingering doubt on your mind, you'll be happy to hear that Droid Life has acquired the official spec sheet for the device:
Indeed, the Incredible 2 will feature a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, a 4-inch SLCD display, SRS WOW HD surround sound, a 16GB microSD card, an 8MP camera, and Android 2.2 out of the box. Read More
Last we heard, Samsung's DROID Charge was scheduled to be released on April 7th - yesterday. Well needless to say, that date has come and gone without so much as a mention of Samsung's LTE handset; however, thanks to Sears, we now have a new timeline: April 14.
The leak also brings news that's bound to make HTC fans smile - the Incredible 2's release date has been rescheduled from April 28th to the 21st, a decidedly welcome change. Read More
Like all good things Verizon, the HTC Incredible 2 didn't remain hidden from the public's eye for long; following the release of a leaked RUU and a Big Red roadmap confirming the device's impending launch, PocketNow got its paws on the following triad of press shots:
From the looks of it, the Incredible 2 will be virtually identical to HTC's popular Incredible S, with the exception of a Verizon logo and the inclusion of a CDMA radio. Read More
If there is one question that I get asked nearly everyday, it’s “When is [insert device here] coming out?” Fortunately, that question is now a little bit easier to answer because our friends over at Phandroid have gotten wind of what’s coming down the pike for Verizon this Spring and, if this leak is legitimate, it’s going to be Android-filled. Here is a breakdown of what to expect:
- April 7, 2011 – Casio Commando, Samsung [DROID] Charge
- April 14, 2011 – Sony Xperia Play
- April 28, 2011 – HTC Incredible 2
- May 5, 2011 – LG Revolution
- Later in May – Motorola Droid Bionic, Motorola Droid X2, Samsung Galaxy 2 (is this what they're calling the S2?)
It is noted that the Bionic, the Droid X2, and the Galaxy 2 are all going to be 4G devices, with the Incredible 2 simply tagged “Global.”
From the looks of things, this year's "Summer of Droid" will arrive to Verizon early. Read More
