The 2013 LTE Nexus 7 That You Can Barely Find Anywhere Gets Updated To Build Number JLS36C

The LTE version of the new Nexus 7 still isn't that easy to get your hands on, but a new update has rolled out for those of you who happen to own this slightly more expensive version of what is already a solid tablet. Did Google Just Show The New Nexus Phone In The KitKat Statue Video? [Update: Video Pulled, More Pics]

Update: Google pulled the video just a few minutes after the news broke. This makes it seem more likely the device in question is a Nexus. Also, a few more screens from the video have surfaced.

Google posted the video of its new KitKat statue being planted on the lawn earlier today, but that's nothing unusual. What was incredibly unusual was the device one of the assembled Googlers was using to snap pictures of the event.

2013 Nexus 7 DODOcase Review: Does An Inexpensive Tablet Deserve A Premium Case?

The new Nexus 7 is not an expensive device, but it feels distinctly premium. The build quality has been markedly improved from the 2012 incarnation and the screen is incredible. It might not be a big investment (thanks to Google's aggressive pricing), but it's still an investment to protect. DODOcase makes some of the most attractive cases and sleeves you can get for a tablet, but they come with a big price tag.

The 8GB Nexus 4 Is Sold Out In Google Play And Will Not Be Restocked

Usually, $199 is the price you pay for a smartphone when signing a soul-crushing two year contract. Not with the Nexus 4, which dropped $100 in price last week. The 8GB model was just $199 after the change, and the 16GB was $249. If you're looking to snag a sub-$200 Nexus, you're too late – the 8GB model is gone for good.

If you're into the idea of a smartwatch but haven't quite been swayed by the current offerings, Samsung's Galaxy Gear is likely on your radar. If you thought that's the only watch tech to look forward to, however, think again. Word just broke that Google purchased a smartwatch manufacturer about a year ago, right under everyone's noses.

[Bug Watch] 2013 Nexus 7's Touchscreen Issues Persist, Even Worsened, On Some Units After JSS15Q "Fixed" Them

It has only been a couple of weeks since I wrote about the troubles with multi-touch (well, touch in general) on the 2013 Nexus 7. While many people are reporting that the OTA has completely cleared up any touchscreen glitches that had been present, some people haven't seen any improvements, and still others are complaining that the problem has grown significantly worse.
