After the Nexus 5's unannounced unveil this morning, you're probably wondering about your soon-to-be new phone's official case options. Well, here they are - Google's announced two different case types for the Nexus 5, in the form of bumper cases and the new quick cover case. Bumper cases, pictured below and in the thumbnail of this post, come in four colors - red, black, gray, and highlighter yellow. They protect all sides of the phone, with cutouts only for the camera button and flash. Read More
You've spent months stumbling through the miasma of rumors and leaked FCC documents, but we've reached the light at the end of the tunnel. The LG Nexus 5 is official and it's listed in the Play Store. Pricing is exactly as previously leaked – $349 for the 16GB phone and $399 for 32GB. The phone comes in all black and the white/black panda-phone model. As for the specs, they are exactly as leaked, which is to say, killer. Read More
Ladies and gentlemen, today is the day you've all been patiently (I kid, I kid - I mean, have you seen /r/Android lately?) waiting for.
Update 11am PT: Like clockwork, the Nexus 5 and KitKat are live!
After speaking with no less than five different sources with knowledge of the matter, I am ready to confirm that the LG-made Nexus 5 should be unveiled later on today, along with Android 4.4 KitKat, additional details of which were leaked last night by former WSJ reporter Amir Efrati. Read More
Reputed leaker of phones @evleaks is talking about the Nexus 5 again today, and this time we're hearing that the device will be available on the Sprint network. An image of the Nexus 5 was included in the Twitter posting, but it doesn't appear to be any different than the other renders of the Nexus 5. So how's this going to work?
Sprint support has been on the table since the radio listings leaked, so this isn't a complete surprise. Read More
Google still hasn't said anything official, but the Nexus 5 is clearly ready for launch. Canadian carrier Wind Mobile has just put up its Nexus 5 pre-registration page on Facebook so interested parties can get on the list to be notified (at some point). Along with the form, we get a nice spec list, which confirms a few things about this device.
Update: All the images posted on Google+ have now been removed. We've still got the veggie image and EXIF info embedded below.
If you believe the rumor mill, the Nexus 5 is going to be announced in mere days, and we know that many Googlers are carrying the devices around. It was only a matter of time before some of them forgot to scrub their EXIF data. Several images taken with the Nexus 5 have been spotted, but some have already been pulled. Read More
One of the UK's largest and most unfortunately named phone sellers, Carphone Warehouse, is apparently fully stocked with the still unannounced Nexus 5. The leaked screen shows 1500 units of the white Nexus 5 in stock, but there are allegedly 1500 black units as well.
It looks like last night's press shot of the Nexus 5 from @evleaks wasn't the only morsel of Nexus news we were meant to receive this weekend, after all. Our favorite gadget leaker has provided another treat, this time sharing a press shot of the white (well... black and white) Nexus 5, along with a possible release date - "11/1".
This render looks more refined than @evleaks' shot of the black Nexus 5 and, while the front remains black, the new shot makes the white N5 look downright appealing. Read More
If you've been on pins and needles for another fix of Nexus hype, @evleaks has provided something you may like. In a post to Twitter this evening, @evleaks shared a new press render of the Nexus 5 - one that matches the Telus Nexus 5 leak we covered last week.
As usual, @evleaks' post is sparse on information, reading only "Nexus 5, by LG, 2013." And this isn't exactly something we haven't seen before - at this point, we've pretty much seen the Nexus 5 from all angles. Read More
Another poll about colors? Yep. Our own Liam Spradlin mocked up what a white Nexus 5 might look like after some pretty likely bogus images of such a device appeared on the web late last week. Here's a more realistic representation of what each will probably look like.
White phones do tend to get a bit dingy and yellowed / grayed over time, but there's something about the N5 whited-out that really appeals to me. Read More
