Google Assistant's personal overview page is going live for some users

In its everlasting quest to get information that matters to you, Google announced at I/O 2018 a new Assistant experience that would consolidate the stuff you care about most in a central Feed-like overview page. With a vague launch time of "this summer," we didn't have any exact timeline for the feature's launch, but just as the calendar flipped over to "summer" officially, we received one tip of the new interface going live for a reader.

Cielo Breez review: Smartening up your air conditioner, the easy way

Depending on where you live, most houses could be built with central heating and thermostats in mind or not. Even in houses that have a fully ducted system, getting a small expansion done like a bigger garage, an additional room, or a guest house could require you start looking at other options for heating and cooling. Ductless systems, whether they're split air conditioner units, window ACs, portable or floor standing units, or heat pumps, are the go-to solution then. But in a world that's more connected than ever, they present one main disadvantage compared to thermostats: they can't be easily retrofitted for automation and smartphone control.

Tip: Tell Google Assistant where you parked and it will add a pin to Maps

If you were following Google I/O this year (and we sure hope you were), it should be clear just how high a priority the Google Assistant is for the company. Rather than building a litany of separate apps to handle all the services Google offers, we're instead seeing an ever-increasing list of functionality built into Assistant itself. But as that list grows, it can be more and more difficult to keep track of just what it offers. We're doing our best to keep you in the know, today reminding you about its ability to help you recall where you've parked.

Google Home gets smarter multiple command support, now answers up to three queries at a time

Since last November, we have been able to issue two queries to our Google Home speakers at once and they would understand them. But at this year's I/O, Google promised improvements to multiple commands that would require less verbosity and would allow more than two commands at a time. Those changes appear to be live, but likely limited to English only.

Google Assistant now available in Thai on phones and tablets

Back in February, Google said that it would be adding 30 more languages to Google Assistant "over the next few months." Of the languages that had been name-dropped at the event, only Hindi and Indonesian have been added, but another has just joined the club: Thai.

Google Assistant (Express) shopping list adopts a new interface with images and better swipe actions

Google Assistant's shopping list is probably one of the most loathed features of the service. Google didn't do it any favors when it forced users to adopt the new web-based Express interface instead of having the list in Keep, and the hatred has kept spewing since then. I'm sure some of you like it, some are indifferent to it, others use it because they have to, and others wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot pole. Today's news won't convince the latter to give it a go, but if you belong to the first three categories, there's a new interface to feast your eyes and fingers on.

Google's latest Lens features from I/O should finally be available now

Back at I/O in May, Google revealed a bunch of features for Lens—some of which were already being tested in some form, but all of which were pretty slick. Based on a mixture of recent reports, our own experiences, and Google's recent tweets, the new features Google described should have arrived on most compatible phones as of yesterday. The snazzy new functionality in Lens includes real-time detection, Smart Text selection, and a new white UI.
