Today Google announced universal search suggestions on the mobile version of their search page. It has been enabled on all major smartphone platforms, so even our iPhone carrying “friends” should be able to partake.
Google first made this change on the desktop version of the search page back in December, and while it was neat, I can’t say I’ve really played with it since it was released. This probably has more to do with the fact that I just control+K to the search bar in Firefox or Chrome rather than visit the search page itself. Read More
Only a few hours since we broke the news about a leaked Samsung Moment Android 2.1, another member of the same forum by the name of joeykrim that posted the original ROM announced that they have successfully rooted it.
Yes, that's right, Samsung Moment with Android 2.1 is now rooted.
So head over, no jet over, to the good old SDX-Developers forum and look at this post for detailed instructions which I will duplicate here. Read More
Apple has just announced that iPhone OS 4 will support multitasking, allowing users to dive in and out of apps and keep some parts of an app running in the background while doing other things.
This is all done through a pop-up dock like interface that can be accessed by double pressing the home button. This will bring up all the apps that are currently running in the background.
Steve Jobs said they’ve figured out how to implement multitasking without it being detrimental to battery life or the performance of the phone. Read More
Foursquare, whose check-in software has become widely popular by Android users all over and is only second to Gowalla, may very well be turning down a buyout offer by Yahoo Inc. for a rumored $100 million dollars. Are they holding out for more money or being gun-ho developers protecting their baby?
Is $100 Million A Lot?
When you compare $100 million to the previous offers other up-and-coming websites with explosive growth have gotten in regards to buyouts, it is actually on the low side. Read More

The Nexus One became available for sale on January 5th. The Nexus One Desktop Dock accessory was on sale a little over 3 weeks later, on January 27th. Finally on April 6th, almost exactly 4 months after the release of the phone, Google has announced that the car dock is available for purchase.
We were teased with glimpses of the car dock in Google’s Nexus One video series ‘The Story’, specifically in the 5th video titled ‘Day One’ (embedded below). Read More
The EVO 4G news is continuing to roll in, though I’m using the term ‘news’ loosely. Engadget is reporting today that Sprint’s upper management is talking about a potential June 6th or 13th launch date, with the 13th seeming more likely to get some hot 4G action.
Engadget is definitely one of the more trustworthy gadget blogs out there right now, but they can only peg this information on ‘intel’, so at this point it does not appear that anything is set in stone. Read More
We just saw a leaked photo coming from Radio Shack’s Direct2U system showing what appears to be the rumored MyTouch Slide. If you are unfamiliar with what the MyTouch Slide is, rumor has it that it will be the G1’s successor for T-Mobile.
This is the photo, posted back in January, of what has been rumored to be the MyTouch Slide. I already have my reservations in regards to anything I own being named ‘MyTouch’, and I think the addition of ‘Slide’ to the name does not help much. Read More
A rumor is floating around, started by an alleged BestBuy employee, about BestBuy starting EVO 4G preorders within a couple of weeks, possibly starting on April 16th.
The rumor comes from gstill4, an AndroidCentral forum member, who posted this last night at 11PM:
I work at best buy and I got info today that best buy mobile is about to get ready to take pre-orders within a couple weeks and it could possibly start on april 16th
We were already expecting BestBuy to start preorders for the EVO 4G sometime soon, and this only reassures our expectations, whether gstill4 is credible or not. Read More
