It seems like only a few days ago the nation's fourth largest carrier launched its highly anticipated and well received first HSPA+ device - the G2. Those of us who aren't keyboard fans, however, didn't have to wait long, as yesterday T-Mobile introduced a second Android device to join HSPA+ ranks: the myTouch 4G. According to some of these early reviews, it's not only better than the G2, it may even be the best phone T-Mobile has to offer. Read More
As the Android platform celebrated its 2nd birthday last month, I thought now would be a good time to take a step back and look at all the music players available on the Market right now. Only a year ago, there were just a couple of worthy contenders, but now we have a choice of more than a dozen very good and popular apps and a few hundred not so popular ones. Read More
Launched to much hyperbole back in September, Google Instant is now making the transition from your desktop browser to your mobile device. Those of you graced with the goodness of Froyo can now experience the same mind-melding AJAX tomfoolery on your handset as you do on a computer. As in the desktop version, Instant is an optional function and you can easily switch it on and off right from the search page. Read More
If there is one Android tablet I am truly excited about (more than the Galaxy Tab, the ViewPad, etc), it's definitely the 10.1" Tegra 2 based dual-core Notion Ink Adam. The tablet has been in the making for as long as I can remember Android tablets even being mentioned, hitting more snags and delays than Duke Nukem and Crunchpad combined. However, Notion Ink's incredible (simply stunning really - just flip through their blog) attention to detail that can only be rivaled by Apple, in my opinion, will make the wait seem like a negligible price to pay when we are finally able to buy the darn thing. The internet start-up GroupMe, a company which aims to provide an easy group texting and conference calling solution to the masses, has just released a very awesome Android app. With the app, users can create groups of peers, friends, or family members and easily send out mass texts or create conference calls.
As someone who does a lot of conference calls, this app is pretty bad ass. Having just checked it out, it seems easy to use and the interface is very clean. Read More
Engadget's landed a classic Blurrycam shot of Verizon's internal system showing the prices for a handful of current and upcoming devices. Namely, the Motorola Droid Pro, and the still-unofficial Droid 2 Global and Samsung Continuum.
In simpler, blur-free text, that's:
- Motorola Droid Pro - $179
- Samsung Continuum - $199
- Motorola Droid 2 Global - $199
Not unreasonable at all, given that they're all high-end devices. I suppose this should also erase any lingering doubt anyone may have had about the two color choices for the D2 Global - we'll definitely be presented with the standard dark blue, as well as a white model. Read More
If you were hungering for more juicy details on the Motorola Droid Pro, today is your lucky day, as documents have just surfaced revealing the pre-sale and launch date of the device. While details are slim, the documents reveal that the pre-sale kicks off November 9th and the official launch date is November 18th. If you order between November 9th and November 17th, you’ll get your Droid Pro before the launch date - never a bad thing! Read More
Earlier today, Facebook let loose its latest and long overdue update to the Android app, and now Twitter decided to steal some spotlight and do the same. The new features include:
- tweet details
- a cleaner timeline
- a speed increase
Alas, there is still no sign of that multiple account support.
Download the app by scanning or clicking the barcode below.

Were you one of the many people surprised and delighted when T-Mobile announced that it would be selling the LG Optimus T for just $29.99? If so, you're about to be even more surprised and delighted - both the Optimus T and its Huawei-built brethren are now available for $0.00 on a new two-year contract!
It's not exactly shocking to see Wirefly touting the device free of charge when some of their recent deals are taken into account, but it certainly is a bit surprising to see that T-Mobile's doing the same. Read More
If you thought Wirefly's previous price tag for the myTouch 4G - $149.99 - was low, just wait 'til you see their new price that went live today: $79.99 (free of tax and shipping charges, as always).
Before you get overly excited, there are a few disclaimers, namely:
- the fact that this is on a new two-year contract, so if you're looking to add a line to an existing family plan, you'll have to cough up $149.99
- they don't have the purple edition of the myTouch - they've only got the regular black, white, and red versions
Still, there's no denying the fact that this is a pretty hot deal as opposed to T-Mobile's $199.99 price, so hit up the source links to order yours. Read More
