Android 2.2.1 System Dump From HP TouchPad Now Available

The HP TouchPad has become quite a hot topic in the Android community as of late, thanks to its ultra-low price tag and superb hardware specs. Several dev teams have already stepped forward to announce plans to port Android to the device, while at least two devices have already been sold with developer builds of Android intact right out of the box.

One of the lucky owners of said Android-ified TouchPads, jiwanish, has been so kind as to provide a full system dump to RootzWiki, allowing devs to make some real progress on the Android TouchPad front.

HP TouchPad 32GB Said To Be Running Android 2.2 Out Of The Box Now On eBay For Almost $700

With its $99 fire sale price, the TouchPad finally hit the sweet spot. Units have been selling like crazy over the past week, but it seems as though one new owner got a little more than he bargained for. No, unfortunately HP didn't accidentally send him 100 units for the price of one, but he did allegedly receive a unit running Android 2.2, rather than webOS.

Making its way onto eBay, the TouchPad has already racked up 8 bids and is sitting at $685 with over 2 days still remaining on the auction, so people are obviously interested in the device.

[New Game Review] Sprinkle HD Looks To Drench Lesser Puzzle Games With Its Awesome Water Physics

Some of my favorite mobile games for the mobile platform are of the puzzle genre, because it tends to lend itself well to the array of controls that are provided. A new THD game that just landed in the Market today, however, combines simple controls and some quirky physics to give you a unique puzzling experience.

In Sprinkle, you are put in charge of a small village's fire department, who are in turn in charge of extinguishing fires that are caused by falling meteorites.

NVIDIA Unleashes TegraZone.com Site For Mobile Gamers, Updates Tegra Zone Android App

TegraZone.com

NVIDIA's Tegra Zone app is undeniably the best way to find games specifically designed to take advantage of the Tegra 2 processor, and now an official companion website has been released. Much like the web portal to the Android Market, the Tegra Zone website makes finding what you're looking for quick and easy. I had a chance to cruise around the site before it was publicly available, and I must say, it's quite nice.

UK Ad Watchdog Tells Motorola Not To Lie - Has Atrix Advert Banned

It has not been a good week for Android manufacturers in Europe. Shortly, after it was announced by a Dutch court that Samsung had infringed one of Apple's patents, a Motorola Atrix advertisement was banned in the UK for falsely claiming to be the "world's most powerful smartphone".

The UK Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) received complaints from Samsung users that the Atrix ads were misleading. The Atrix features a 1GHz dual-core processor, while the Samsung Galaxy S II has a faster 1.2GHz dual-core processor.

Thumb Keyboard Updated To Version 4.3.3 - Brings Custom Backgrounds, Adjustable Volume And More

One of my favorite keyboard options for Android, Thumb Keyboard from Beansoft, has recently updated to version 4.3.3. Beansoft already upped the app to version 4 a little while ago bringing themes (and a slick coverflow gallery view of the themes) and a ton of other features that improved the keyboard's capacity for customization. Building on that update, 4.3.3 brings the following:

  • Customizable keyboard backgrounds
  • Adjustable typing volume
  • Full support for h/qvga screens
  • Minor bug fixes

Official Motorola Droid Bionic Teaser Leaks, Someone Invited A Sci-Fi Ninja To The Party

In  the past, teasers, trailers, and other forms of video goodness for the Droid lineup have left me in a state of awe. I can still remember the amount of excitement that I felt the first time I saw the teaser for the Droid X -- it was chill inducing. The second that eye lit up with the infamous red glow and the "droid" audio resonated through my ear canals; oh man, it was good.
