[Update: Live Now] New Facebook App Launching Today - Improves Speed, Photo Sharing, Messaging, And UI

Facebook just announced via its blog that an improved Facebook app for Android should be rolling out today. The updated app brings speed, improved photo interaction, and a better UI.

For starters, this update seems to be all about speed. Photos and albums are said to be two times faster than the current app, and photo sharing, comment viewing, and caption editing have all been improved.

The notification center has also been moved to the top of the screen so it's always visible, much like the desktop version of the site.

[New App] SoundTracking Lets You Share Your Music Taste With The Social World, With One Twist

SoundTracking made its jump from iOS onto the Android Market today boasting a new, Android exclusive (for now), feature. [Updated] Verizon Experiencing Nationwide Data Outage, Both 4G And 3G Affected

Seems that Verizon has been experiencing some issues with its entire network for the biggest part of the day thus far - we've been hearing reports that its 4G LTE network has been down since earlier today, and it looks like 3G service is in-and-out, as well.

Big Red has been noticeably silent during this outage, so let's just hope that they have every man, women, and child on the job to get it fixed.

Google+ Update Brings High Res Photo Upload, Ability To +1 Comments, And More

Android's Google+ app got a big update today, bringing several handy new features to the mobile version of Google's social networking venture. The update allows users to upload high-res photos, +1 photos and comments, add videos to instant upload, and more, while also bringing several unspecified bug fixes.

Google Goggles Gets Ginormous Update With Continuous Scan, Document Recognition

Google Goggles, the app that lets you "search the real world with a picture," just received a pretty major update to version 1.7. The update brings some very cool features, like continuous scan mode, which lets Goggles do its thing without having to constantly hit the shutter button.
