Google 'Entertainment Device' Could Launch Later This Year, Bring Android-Controlled Music Streaming To Your Entire House

Remember the "entertainment device" that Google has reportedly been testing out at employees' homes? Well, it looks like El Goog could be rolling that same kit out to the retail market sooner than we thought.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Google could push a product later this year used to stream music wirelessly throughout peoples' homes. What's more, it's said that this device will be sold under Google's brand, making it the first full-Google device to reach the consumer market.

Both Motorola Xyboards Receiving Update To Build 1.6.0M_279-MZ609, Brings Several Enhancements And Global Roaming Capability

The first Droid-branded tablet duo, the Droid Xyboard 10.1 and 8.2, are both in line to receive an update from Big Red. The OTA includes basically the same features for both:

[Update: Rolling Out Now] Verizon Making Ready Update 6.12.173 For The Droid RAZR/MAXX, Should Begin Rolling Out Soon (No, It's Not ICS)

Update: The word on the street is that this update should be hitting devices today. Hit Settings > About phone > System updates to see if it's available on your device.

An update to the support docs for the Droid RAZR/MAXX just hit hit Verizon's site with details of an upcoming OTA update that should be hitting the airwaves sometime soon. While this doesn't bring Android 4.0 to Moto's newest flagship, it does bring a handful of other useful fixes and tweaks:

Verizon LTE Xoom Is Getting An Update (HLK75H), But It's Not Ice Cream Sandwich Yet

Yes, we were excited too, but it looks like owners of Verizon's LTE Xoom still have to wait a bit for ICS. The tablet is about to receive a software update (HLK75H) "soon". Verizon's support page doesn't specify when. There's not much to the update, though. Your tablet will now support dual International Mobile Subscriber Identities (IMSI), as well as a bugfix for restoring data connectivity after exiting Airplane Mode.

In other words, this update is for the subset of the already small group of people who own Verizom Xooms that use their tablets for frequent international travel.

Google+ For Android Gets An Update, Brings Major Performance Improvements To The Stream, Adds What's Hot Section And More

Google just dropped an update to its social networking app for mobile. Unlike some other apps, Google's brought a ton of new features that are actually useful. The Stream is now faster, doesn't immediately jump to the top of the feed when the app automatically refreshes, and shortens entries so you can see more of them at once.

A few other improvements have been made. A new What's Hot! section allows you to follow what everyone is talking about, in an obvious attempt to compete with Twitter's trending topics.
