Google finally acknowledges Bluetooth disconnection issue on Home speakers

For most of us, Google Homes are Assistant and cast speakers first: We either ask for music or audio to be played or we use them like a Chromecast target from our phones. But that's discounting two other ways they can be used: as Bluetooth speakers and as source to stream to other Bluetooth speakers. For more than a year now, that functionality has been broken and Google Homes haven't been able to maintain a Bluetooth link without disconnecting, but the Mountain View giant has finally acknowledged the issue.

Every new Android 11 feature we've spotted so far

It's that time of the year. Android 11 is here — or, at least, the first early developer previews are. We're continually combing through these new versions looking for changes, willing canaries in the Android coal mines so that you, our readers, can see what's new without having to actually risk installing it on your own phone (if you don't want to). Now that we've had some time to look around, here's everything new we've spotted.

Galaxy Z Flip review: It's almost time to throw away your old, boring, non-folding phone

The progress we've made with folding phones in just the last year is stunning. We went from teasing the concept behind a glass box to several shipping products in just about no time, culminating almost precisely one year later in this: the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip. It's a folding vision from the future, loaded with flaws and bent like a scythe in preparation of the Flat Phone Reaping. Even if you don't buy the Z Flip (and you shouldn't), your current phone's days are numbered.

TouchStadia hack brings Stadia the touchscreen controls you never wanted

With mobile devices sporting big, beautiful touchscreen displays, it only seemed natural to expect that Google's Stadia gaming platform would one day support this input method as a way to play. Although Google hasn't made any official announcement about such a feature, Redditor SmashShock was able to hack together a working version of mobile touch controls for Stadia that they're calling TouchStadia.

Android 11 makes it easy to check what audio codecs your Bluetooth headphones support

It's usually difficult to figure out what kinds of audio codecs your favorite Bluetooth headphones/speakers support, at least on Android. The main method involves copying logs from your phone to a PC, then running them through an application like Wireshark. Thankfully, Google has made the process significantly easier on Android 11.

Pixel Buds marked as 'Coming Soon' in new product listing

If you're like me, you may have already completely forgotten about the updated Pixel Buds that were announced back in October. Google's second attempt at wireless earbuds certainly looked like a major improvement at the time — the cable connecting the two buds are gone — but we were only left with a spring release date. Now the release is nearly upon us, according to a new product listing.

Galaxy S20 is official with three variants, 5G across the board, and $1,000+ price tags

Samsung used to introduce its Galaxy S flagship series during MWC, but it has long since moved the unveiling to a separate event prior to the trade show. After months of leaks and a very revealing Galaxy Z Flip ad during the Oscars, Samsung has finally taken the wraps off its Galaxy S20 series consisting of the Galaxy S20, the S20+, and the S20 Ultra. Yes, the company is skipping S11 through S19 to pull even with the current year, which could make it easier to remember when which series was released in the future.
