[Bug Watch] VPN Issues In KitKat Are Interfering With Connection Routing, Fixes Are Planned For Some Of Them

[Bug Watch] VPN Issues In KitKat Are Interfering With Connection Routing, Fixes Are Planned For Some Of Them

Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) aren’t the sexiest topic out there, but they are a pretty vital part of daily operations for almost every major company and many small businesses. VPNs are used to securely connect a computer, tablet, or phone to a company's private network over the Internet, thus allowing people to work remotely while ensuring strict authentication and enforcing administrative policies. Even some power users are apt to set up a VPN if they want to make their home networks accessible while they're on the road.

LG G Flex Review: An Engineering Concept You Can Actually Buy, Not That You Necessarily Should

LG G Flex Review: An Engineering Concept You Can Actually Buy, Not That You Necessarily Should

LG G Flex is just like a lot of modern, high-end smartphones. It has a fast processor, lots of RAM, a big battery, and a large display. Using it isn't particularly different from any other Android smartphone. And yet, hand the G Flex to almost anyone, and they will immediately notice there is something very different about it, and I'm not talking about the buttons on the back.

The G Flex is one of two phones currently on the market to use a flexible OLED panel, the other being Samsung's Galaxy Round.

[Deal Alert] Costco offers up to $500 in lump sum Samsung trade-in credit toward T-Mobile Note9

[Deal Alert] Costco offers up to $500 in lump sum Samsung trade-in credit toward T-Mobile Note9

Many of the recent Pixel 3 leaks haven't exactly been celebrated — our own recent poll results show 60 percent of participating readers don't like the look of it — leaving the well-reviewed Samsung Galaxy Note9 in a strong position. Carrier deals only enhance the allure —for instance, T-Mobile's offer of up to $500 in trade-in credits (split over 24 months) on Note9 activations. Even better, though, is Costco's new offer in partnership with the carrier, which gifts the full $500 in one lump sum.

Samsung Says The Sprint Galaxy S5 Should Be Getting Its Android 4.4.4 OTA (G900PVPU1ANI4) Now

Samsung Says The Sprint Galaxy S5 Should Be Getting Its Android 4.4.4 OTA (G900PVPU1ANI4) Now

Samsung has been sending the somewhat overdue Android 4.4.4 update to its flagship devices for the last few weeks, and according to this support page, it's now the Sprint Galaxy S5's turn. The Sprint CDMA edition of the S5 should be receiving the latest stable build of Android now, though we haven't actually found any users who are getting it this morning. Given the way that US carriers tend to stagger the rollouts for just about everything, that isn't all that surprising. The page says it was released last week, but it has only been updated today.

s5 update

The Galaxy S5 launched with KitKat, and the Sprint variety has been running 4.4.2 since it launched back in April.

@evleaks Posts Alleged Galaxy Note 3 Lock Screen Wallpaper

@evleaks Posts Alleged Galaxy Note 3 Lock Screen Wallpaper

Perennial purveyor of privileged information @evleaks has delivered a nice weekend "present", posting a lock screen wallpaper from the yet-unannounced Galaxy Note 3.

The wallpaper, which weighs 6.9MB, has a resolution of 1920x1920, implying that the Note 3 has a predictable enough 1080x1920 resolution.

It shouldn't be long until we hear more about the Galaxy Note 3 (David and I will be on the ground at IFA 2013) and hopefully see even more goodies from the device, but if you want to grab the wallpaper right now, just hit the link in @evleaks' tweet above.

Samsung Releases First Android 4.4.2 Build For The Exynos-Powered Galaxy Note 3, Including Kernel Source

US Cellular Announces Android 4.4.2 Updates For The Galaxy S4 And Galaxy Note 3

US Cellular customers with Samsung flagship phones, you can finally play with the latest and greatest in Android software. The carrier is sending out the KitKat 4.4.2 update for both the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Note 3 today, following the carrier's Moto X update by just over a week. Not bad, considering that larger carriers aren't very far ahead.

uscupdate

You know the drill: check your Settings menu for a manual update if you haven't seen it already. US Cellular is also encouraging customers to download and apply the updates with their PCs via Samsung's Kies program. As always, those who choose to use the over-the-air method should be aware of a large download size (US Cellular requires a WiFi download) and the possibility of a staggered rollout, so the update may not appear on your phone for several days.

LG Stylo 5+ goes on sale at AT&T with upgraded front-facing camera

If you're on the lookout for a stylus-toting smartphone, the Galaxy Note series has traditionally been your only option. Unfortunately, these cost a pretty penny (except for the Note 3 Neo which Samsung sold for a hot minute), so customers on a budget were left out. LG has targetted the Note customer on a budget with the LG Stylo 5, and AT&T just announced its own variant, the Stylo 5+.

[Deal Alert] Get The Galaxy Note 3 Wireless Charging Cover In Black Or White For 50% Off In The Samsung Store, 20% Off At Best Buy

Having rechargeable batteries is nice, but everything comes with its own cable these days. As a result, attempting to charge multiple devices at once can turn the space behind that nightstand into an unmanageable cluster of cables. But more and more devices now support wireless charging, and if you want to add your Galaxy Note 3 to that list, you need to invest in a wireless charging cover. While this extension would normally cost $39.99, today you can get it for just $19.99 from the Samsung store. You just have to use the coupon code rv18623, which only works once per account.
