Yu Announces Cyanogen OS 12.1 (Android 5.1) Over-The-Air Update For The Yuphoria

Yu's Cyanogen OS-running Yuphoria phone, sold primarily to the Indian market, has had CyanogenMod 12.1 (Android 5.1) available for almost half a year now. The catch is that it's been available as a CyanogenMod nightly build, requiring end users to flash a custom recovery, then a custom ROM in order to access it. Yesterday, the Cyanogen company and Yu itself announced the over-the-air rollout of the finished, consumer-ready update for the stock software build.

The YOG4PAS47N build is Android 5.1.1/Cyanogen OS 12.1 (the official commercial updates from the incorporated company lose the -Mod suffix). To upgrade, users need to be running the latest version of the retail software, YNG1TBS2P2.

The white version is the only one available, but it's even cheaper than the Amazon deal from a couple of weeks ago.

The ATH-M50x features a fold-up design for compact storage, 45mm drivers, a detachable headphone cord (with no less than three included coiled and straight cables), a 15-28,000Hz frequency range, and an included carrying case.

500px Releases Revamped Android App—Meanwhile, Chainfire's 500 Firepaper Loses 500px-Supported Pro Upgrade

500px is the home of a great deal of lovely photography, and the app has been updated today to be a bit more lovely itself. At least this is the assertion made by 500px. The new v4.3.0 is live in the Play Store with a completely revamped UI and a few small feature additions. However, Chainfire's 500px wallpaper app 500 Firepaper got an update too, and it's a much sadder story.

Google Releases Its List Of Best Apps Of 2015 With Regional Focus And Some Questionable Choices

Every year toward December, Google releases a list of the best apps it recommends from the Play Store. It's a great way for Android newcomers to discover interesting apps they might want to install on their devices and for platform veterans to find apps that might have flown under their radar. This year's list is out, divided in 8 categories of 5 apps each, with a few added at the top, but the choices are if anything, a little weird.

You'll likely see different lists according to where you live. Some apps seem to be globally recommended like Skype, Google Photos, Twitch, and djay, while others will differ based on where you're consulting the list from.
