Huawei Set To Announce A 6.1" 1080p Phone At CES, Because Bigger Is Always Better–Right?

Every time I pick up my Nexus 7, I think to myself "you know, if this were 0.9 inches smaller, I'd definitely use it as a phone." Because there's no possible way I'd look even remotely silly holding something that large up to my head, right?

OK, that may be true about me personally, but it seems someone at Huawei had a similar train of thought, as the company is set to unveil a monstrous 6.1" 1080p phone known as the Ascend Mate at CES.

Disney Releases Nemo's Reef, It's A Small World Live Wallpaper, And Where's My Holiday? All In One Go

Leave it to Disney to go all out like this. In a very rapid release of new apps, everyone's favorite kid-friendly distributor of films, TV shows, games and anything else that can empty parents' wallets has dropped on us three new titles. For starters, Nemo's Reef. This let's-call-it-a-game expands on the Finding Nemo franchise (naturally), and allows players to create their own underwater reef. You can customize the fish's home, add various characters from the movies including Gill, Dory, Bloat and Bubbles, and even plant a variety of seeds.

Nearly a couple weeks ago, the Jelly Bean (4.1.1) update to the Evo 4G LTE XL BBQ began to roll out. By now, we think it's safe to say that most or all of you have it. If you don't, however, or if you've already updated, flashed another ROM, and want to get back to stock, then maybe I can interest you in a nice RUU?

As a side note, if you're HTCDev unlocked, you'll need to relock your handset or you'll get an error while trying to run the .exe.

[Weekend Poll And News Roundup] Which New Android Phone Are You Most Looking Forward To In 2013?

Welcome to the Android Police Weekend Poll and News Roundup. For last week's poll and roundup, see What Twitter App Are You Using?

As we near the end of 2012, the rumor mill for 2013 is already churning away. Yesterday, the Wall Street Journal published a report on a Motorola 'X Phone' project being headed up by a former Googler, and I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm dying to see a Google-Moto mashup, especially if the premise is trying new and interesting things.

[New Game] SNK Playmore's Original Metal Slug Comes To Android With Guns... Lots Of Guns

If you're of the opinion that games these days are entirely too easy, what with automatic saves, regenerating health, and veritable labyrinths of handy chest-high walls, then you'll want to pick up side-scrolling classic Metal Slug. It harkens back to a simpler time (namely 1996) when men were men, women were women, and gigantic tanks bristling with missile launchers were waiting at the end of every level.

If you're unfamiliar with Metal Slug (and didn't pick up the somewhat more modern Metal Slug 3 when it came to the Play Store earlier this year) it's a side-scrolling shooter in the vein of Contra.

Archos To Release New Tablet That's Basically An iPad Because Why Not?

I could tell you about the Archos 97 Premium's features. It's specifications. The version of Android it's running. How much it might cost. But honestly, Archos has made it a near certainty that no one will remotely care about any of these things, because of the 97 Premium's decidedly interesting design. Let me just do a little side by side for you.

Is the 97 Premium an iPad? No. Is it so obviously meant to draw comparisons to the iPad that it borders on something I'd expect out of a fly-by-night Chinese manufacturer?

Battle Bears Royale Is What Team Fortress 2 Would Be If It Were On Android And Rainbow-Colored Bears Were People

The hits just keep on coming. Today's delightfully twisted game is Battle Bears Royale and, just like it says on the box, this game features bears. That battle each other. With sniper rifles, machine guns, and cactuses. If you've ever played Team Fortress 2,  you'll feel right at home (though it's hard to seriously say the quality is as high as the Valve game, but what is?) with the class system.
