[Update: Winners] CyanogenMod Users, Get Ready: We Have 50 Codes For CM Downloader Premium

I'm going to be real with you guys: it's been a long while since I've flashed a ROM on any of my devices. Stock Android has gotten so good for me personally that I just haven't really gotten around to experimenting with anything new. That said, I definitely appreciate that the option is there for everyone out there who isn't happy with their device's software. And if I were to flash something right now, there's about a 100 percent chance that it'd be CyanogenMod.

For those of you who are already rocking CM's latest on your device, we have a pretty solid giveaway for you: 50 codes for CM Downloader Premium.

[Update: Winners!] Win A Blu Life One X Or Vivo 5 (Six Phones Total) From Blu And Android Police

We've been working with Blu for quite a while now, and the company has been putting out some of its best phones to date over the last few months. With the release of the Life One X (2016) and Vivo 5, Blu has once again set the bar for what a "budget" phone can — and should — be. For $150 and $200 respectively, these are two of the absolute best phones that are available on the market today in this price range.

[Update: Winners] We Have 25 Codes For Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance For SHIELD Android TV To Give Away Courtesy of NVIDIA

When it comes to iconic video games, there are few that stand out more than the Metal Gear series. I was instantly hooked when I first played Metal Gear Solid, and have been a huge fan of the franchise since. While Solid Snake is basically the character who makes the whole thing, I learned to appreciate and even like Raiden in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (after my initial irritation that the game wasn't playable as Snake). It took me a while to get there, but I finally did.

I was happy to see him get his own game as a cyborg ninja in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, though I never actually got around to playing that title on a traditional console.

[Update: Winners] Win One Of Ten USB Type-C 'Starter Packs' From AP And Tronsmart

USB Type-C is the new hotness, and we're already seeing several manufacturers adopt the new (and improved) technology. The newest Google handsets and tablet all have Type-C, the LG G5 will have it, and even companies like Blu have moved to this tech for its newest Vivo phones. Whether we're ready or not, this is something that we'll see even more of moving forward.

While USB Type-C is essentially superior to its predecessor in every way, it's still a huge pain to move from something that's been around as long as microUSB. There's a good chance you have cables and chargers aplenty, and giving up the luxury of having multiple chargers pretty much sucks.

[Update: Winners] We Have 50 Codes For Podcast Addict To Give Away

You know what's cool? Podcasts are cool. They've been around for what seems like an eternity now, and they're still just as relevant as ever — maybe even more. And in case you were wondering, the Android Police Podcast might actually be the coolest podcast of all time. It's so good.

To add to the cool factor here, there are also a ton of podcast apps to choose from. Some suck, others do not. If you'd like to have one that does not suck (which I highly recommend), then Podcast Addict is probably a good one to go with.

It's loaded with a slew of awesome features:

  •  Subscribe to any existing audio/video podcast (300K+ podcasts available)
  •  Subscribe to YouTube channels/playlists, RSS news feeds and listen to Radio stations live streams
  •  Advanced player features: loop mode, repeat mode, sleep timer, etc.

[Update: Winners] Like Wallpapers? We Have 50 Backdrops Pro Codes To Give Away

A couple of weeks ago, Google gave developers a way to offer promo codes for their apps. Shortly after, we teamed up with the developer of LocalCast to hand out 50 promo codes for the premium version of the app, which was a great success. Today, we’re teaming up with the dev behind Backdrops, a popular wallpaper app, to give out 50 codes for Backdrops Pro. Let’s go.

First off, if you haven’t tried Backdrops, I feel bad for you, son. It’s essentially a premier way to find new wallpapers on Android, and the majority of the content there is exclusive so you won’t get it anywhere else.

[Update: Winners] We Have 50 Promo Codes For LocalCast To Give Away

Casting audio, video, pictures, and more from your smartphone or tablet to the TV is one of the easiest ways to get content from the little screen to the big screen, but it requires an app that supports the feature in the first place. For example, try using Adobe Reader or Google Docs to cast a PDF to the TV. You're out of luck.

Thankfully, enterprising developers like Stefan Pledl—the creator of LocalCast—have been able to whip up some really nice looking solutions that allow users to cast almost any consumable content to the big screen.

[Update: Winners] Win One Of 10 Bingle Bear Android Figurines From Dead Zebra And Android Police

I love Christmas. It's easily my favorite holiday of the year—just looking at the lights and festive decorations fills me with so much glee I could explode. A sparkly explosion of glee and joy all over the place. It would be the most loving explosion of all time.

But alas, I kind of don't want to explode. I mean, if I'm going to go, an explosion of pure glee wouldn't be a bad way to do it…but I've still got stuff to do, ya know? Anyway, I'm getting off topic here—we're not talking about explosions. We're talking about Christmas and how awesome it is.

[Update: Winner] Win An HTC One A9 From AT&T And Android Police

It's officially the Christmas season, and you know what that means: holiday meals with family, fruit cake, and terrible gifts. I mean, there are probably (hopefully?) going to be some good gifts, too, but there will almost definitely be some terrible ones. Whether it's that out-of-touch aunt who thinks you're still 12, or that one relative who always buys you something even though they know nothing about you, there will definitely be some crap gifts this holiday season. I can't wait.
