The Dell Streak Expected In U.S., Unlocked For $500

Several users attending D8 have reported on the Dell Streak coming to the United States in July 2010, unlocked, with a price tag of $500. You'll be able to buy the Dell Streak directly from Dell.com, although Dell executive Ron Garriques is quoted as saying their preferred model is to sell the device to consumers through wireless carriers. Specs we've seen indicate it will run on the 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor that powers the Google Nexus One and HTC Droid Incredible, boast a 5" screen, and have a 5 Megapixel rear-facing camera.

Rumorama: HTC To Boost AT&T’s Android Line-Up With The Aria?

Skeptic hats on for this one, folks. The gents over at Phonedog are reporting that they have inside information on an upcoming HTC Android phone slated to hit AT&T, dubbed the Aria.

ariafcc

Details are sparse, but the phone will supposedly be running HTC’s SenseUI skin and be powered by Android 2.1 which is a bit of a bummer, though HTC has previously announced that all phones launched this year should receive an update to 2.2, so that’s promising.

Dell Streak Officially Announced For The UK, Available In The US Later This Summer

Dell Streak Officially Announced For The UK, Available In The US Later This Summer

One of Dell’s worst kept secrets, the Dell Streak, has finally been officially unveiled by Dell. The phone/tablet hybrid is slated to launch in early June and will be available exclusively on the O2 mobile carrier in the UK.

dell-streak-off-1

I haven’t had the chance to play with one yet, but the Dell Streak seems like it will be a bit of an awkward phone, primarily due to its massive screen. With a 5 inch screen the phone attempts to fill in the gap between full blown tablets and cellphones…a gap that I’m not sure necessarily needed to be filled.

Want Android On Your iPhone 3G? There’s An App For that.

The mad scientists over at the iPhone Dev-Team have done it again! Planetbeing, the dev who brought us the Youtube video of the original iPhone running Android, has just posted another, showing off Android running on Apple’s iPhone 3G.

Since the project is still in development, not everything is working at this point, most notably audio, but it seems like the majority of the features are intact, including multi-touch, WiFi, and the baseband, which is required for the call and text messaging functions.

The Leaks Continue – Meet The Dell Flash And The Dell Smoke

The Leaks Continue – Meet The Dell Flash And The Dell Smoke

Engadget’s leaked a few more Dell phones that just might steal the just announced Thunder’s… well, thunder (that’s the last one, I swear). This time we’re focusing on two handsets that are confirmed to run Froyo and mix things up bit when it comes to form factor.

Dell’s Smoke is a qwerty candybar with an 800MHz CPU, a 5MP autofocus camera, 14.4Mbps HSPA and dual-mic noise cancelling technology. It also packs Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1+ EDR, much to the surprise of no one.

Dell Sets The Stage With Their New Android UI – Will Include Flash... And Run Froyo?

Dell Sets The Stage With Their New Android UI – Will Include Flash... And Run Froyo?

Finally, a decent Android skin that isn’t HTC’s Sense UI. Along with a few details about Dell’s newest superphones, we’ve been treated with plenty of information about their custom Android skin, dubbed Stage UI.

It seems that, initially at least, this new UI will be exclusive to Dell’s newly leaked trio of high-end Android phones, the Thunder, the Flash, and the Smoke. At this point there’s a bit of confusion as to which version of Android the Stage UI will be based on, with Engadget reporting that the Thunder will run Flash and Android 2.1 and the other two phones set to run Froyo.

Break Out Those Drool Buckets: Dell Brings The Thunder

Break Out Those Drool Buckets: Dell Brings The Thunder

Holy Android sexiness Batman. Engadget has just busted out some glorious details and renders of the upcoming Dell Thunder – an Android superphone that certainly lives up to the title.

I was a bit taken aback by the announcement – as far as we knew, the only Android phones in Dell’s pipeline were the previously announced Streak and Aero, both of which are interesting, but not nearly as appealing as the Thunder.

Samsung Galaxy S To Hit The Four Major US Carriers?

Samsung Galaxy S To Hit The Four Major US Carriers?

In a surprising turn of events, it’s beginning to look like Samsung’s latest Android superphone, the Galaxy S, may be headed to a carrier near you.

Forbes is reporting that an analyst for Broadpoint.AmTech, Mark McKechnie, ‘expects the Galaxy S to be sold at AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint before the end of June and to be picked up at Verizon "sometime later in the year"’. Those are certainly promising words, and Forbes seems to have enough faith in this prediction to run with it, but it should be noted that Samsung has declined to comment on carrier availability.

XPERIA X10 Coming To AT&T This Summer - Will AT&T Cripple It Like The Backflip?

XPERIA X10 Coming To AT&T This Summer - Will AT&T Cripple It Like The Backflip?

A supposedly trusted source told Engadget that Sony Ericsson's XPERIA X10 Android phone, which already got released in Canada on April 15th, would be coming to America under AT&T's wing this July or August.

The device, which is currently running Android 1.6, has a 4" screen, an 8MP camera, a beefy 1GHz Snapdragon processor, and Sony's own "Rachael" UI.

AT&T has the worst track record for crippling the only Android device that dared enter its network so far - the Motorola Backflip, most likely due to pressure from Apple.
