The Quick Access feature from Google Drive, previously an exclusive to the Drive app, will now be coming to the site. Once it is live, you'll be able to see the files Google thinks you are most likely to need at a given time right at the top of your list. We aren't seeing it on our end quite yet, but Google just announced the feature today.
The beta program is now live! Cruise on over here to check it out, if you'd like to register for the program. Only a few Nexus and Pixel devices are compatible with the service, but now you can whet your Android O whistle in a slightly more stable way.
Google Goggles has been basically dead since 2014. It had no updates for three years, and what little utility it brought was quickly replaced by other services, or merged into existing apps. Well, now Google has disclosed a worthy successor to the idea in the form of Google Lens. Just announced at I/O, the new system will provide contextual information about things visually, like flowers you take pictures of, or text you point your phone at. This is huge.

Google might have joined the common vernacular — it was entered into the venerable Oxford English Dictionary back in 2006, after all — but it has staunchly resisted attempts to render the actual trademark "Google" invalid. A recent suit to invalidate the term has been decided in Google's favor, so that's one more attempt thwarted. Instead of joining the vaulted halls of cellophane, linoleum, and thermos, Google will remain a trademark.

- Samsung's site has information about the UK, so things are definitely live and launched, at least with the banks MBNA, Nationwide, and Santander. I would expect more to be added in the coming months.
