Commercials on Hulu getting on your nerves? Now there's a way to skip them, provided you're willing to pay a little more each month. Hulu has announced a commercial-free version of the service that will cost $11.99 per month rather than the usual $7.99.
It's been a long time since there's been a new Android Wear watch available for pre-order, but this is the big day for the much anticipated Huawei Watch. This device starts at $349 and will eventually go all the way up to $799, but the expensive gold versions aren't part of today's pre-order. You can get the other versions at Amazon, Best Buy, and more.
People are apparently interested in the Nextbit Robin smartphone with its cloud-centric features. The Kickstarter campaign has already hit the modest $500,000 goal, so the company is doing a $1 million stretch goal. If the campaign hits that, everyone gets a quick charger included with the phone.

Google's new branding is already starting to worm its way into all corners of the company's design. The web interface is already being updated with new icons based on the sans-serif G, and now app updates have started to show up. No need to wait for update Wednesday this time. So far we've got Maps and Translate.

It's new logo day at Google, and that means your favorite apps are getting a few icon tweaks. Several of Google's apps had the little 'g' somewhere, but that's no longer part of the logo. Now it's all about the big G, and Google is already updating icons on the web to reflect that.
We've been waiting for Motorola to announce a timeline for the new Moto X after previously deleting multiple mentions of a September 3rd date. We still don't have a final release date, but you'll be able to give Motorola your money tomorrow, September 2nd. That's when pre-orders go live in the US.

This device also has an invite system, and the price is a little higher. Is it worth scrounging and begging to get an invite to buy this one, though? T-Mobile's bombastic CEO John Legere does not mince words. Following an impromptu Periscope broadcast on Sunday, he's published an open letter on the T-Mobile website that lays out his plan to go after those dirty, rotten data thieves. You know the ones—people who use their unlimited data lines to get unlimited tethering data, bypassing the 7GB cap. Sony kind of announced the Z4 a few months ago, but now it's moving quickly toward a do-over with the Z5. There will actually be three phones called Z5, which could be announced in a few days at IFA. You don't have to wait, though. A video from the French site Clubic was leaked showing off the Z5 in moderate detail.

It's a fascinating tale that makes the hard sci-fi elements much more relatable. You don't have to be a huge space nerd to follow and enjoy the story, but if you are a space nerd, you'll find The Martian to be incredibly well-researched.The Martian starring Matt Damon opens on October 2nd, so you've got time to devour the novel before seeing the movie. I say this as someone who loves sci-fi and has written a sci-fi novel—The Martian is great. It's one of the best books I've read in recent memory.
