Those of you familiar with the GPL will know that manufacturers are required to post any modifications they make to the Android kernel. Motorola does this with all of their phones, including the Nougat-powered Moto X4, but now that Oreo is out for the phone (well, at least the Android One version), the source code for that needs to be posted as well. Lo and behold, it has.
Chances are that you've read about our second take on the excellent Mi A1 posted earlier today. It might not be officially sold here in the US, but it can still be had for not a lot of money, so long as you don't care much about LTE. never-msrp, a popular seller on eBay, is offering the Mi A1 in gold for just $224.99.

The Lava Red OnePlus 5T first debuted in November of last year. To the chagrin of many fans, it turned out to be exclusively for the Chinese market, but that will soon cease to be the case. This especially bright OnePlus 5T is headed to India, and enthusiasts there will be able to buy one starting January 20th.
Like many Google products, the Home Max isn't easy to find at a discount, especially given its very recent entry to the market. However, Verizon Business is offering a Home Max and Home Mini bundle for just $337.48, or $112.50 off the combined MSRPs of both Home devices. That's pretty nuts. Unfortunately, you will need access to a Verizon Business (B2B) account to take advantage of this deal. And no, your run-of-the-mill Verizon account won't do.
Even with the tremendous amount of banks and credit unions already participating in Android Pay, there will always be even more to join in the fun. Case in point: 80 new banks and credit unions in the US have just been added to Google's support page, making the first mass addition in 2018 a big one.
Prototypes are always cool to see, but us consumers don't often get to do so. It's nice to take a look at how the designs of products evolve from the drawing board all the way to our homes, pockets, and backpacks. An interview with Google hardware designer Ivy Ross recently went up on The Keyword, and embedded within are photos of several Google products' prototypes.
We just saw a leaked photo of the Moto E5 yesterday, but apparently that wasn't all there is to leak. Droid Life has posted renders and details on six phones: the Moto G6, the Moto G6 Plus, the Moto G6 Play, the Moto X5, the Moto Z3, and the Moto Z3 Play. All of them follow the trend of a higher screen-to-body ratio with an 18:9 display.
You might recall that Samsung produced an Olympic Games Limited Edition of the Galaxy S7 edge that was distributed to every Olympian competing (well, except for the North Koreans). The South Korean manufacturer is doing the same thing for the 2018 Winter Olympics in its home country with some very eye-catching Galaxy Note8s.
The Pixel Buds are priced exactly the same as Apple's AirPods at $159, but that's more than most people are willing to pony up for earbuds. If you were on the lookout for a discount and you've also been considering a Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL, perhaps the Google Store's latest deal of 50% off will entice you.
Last year's Moto E4 and Moto E4 Plus both received high praises in our reviews. Those phones both sported front-mounted fingerprint sensors, just as Galaxy devices and iPhones did for many years. However, it looks like Lenovorola may be moving the fingerprint sensor to the back for the Moto E5, according to a leaked image.
Nowadays, it seems like practically every major manufacturer with Android devices releases betas for their phones, which is pretty great for the community. Huawei has already released Oreo betas for the Mate 9 and some other phones, but now it's the P10/P10 Plus's turn.

It's always funny when manufacturers leak their own products ahead of their official launches. The U11 EYEs was thoroughly detailed a couple of days ago by Evan Blass, but while that leak was more comprehensive than most, it still didn't show everything. Now thanks to some mistakes at HTC, we can see all of the U11 EYEs's specs in full, right down to the launch promos.
Sonos products are praised for a lot of good reasons, but integration with other smart home ecosystems isn't one of them. Until recently, you'd have had to use some separate hardware or scripts to control any Sonos speaker, but no longer. Google has added support for Yonomi to the Google Home and Google Assistant, and since Yonomi supports Sonos natively, that means that controlling your Sonos speakers with Google Home no longer requires a workaround.
It's not often that an eBay seller offers better deals that can be found on sites like eBay, Swappa, or Craigslist, but that's the case with this refurbished Galaxy S7. For just $214.99, you can have a 2016 flagship with very little to no damage that many people still use today. Just make sure that you're on T-Mobile.
Hot on the heels of last night's Galaxy S9 box leak, the S9/S9+ duo has passed through the US's FCC. Unfortunately, since these major companies know how impatient and clever us tech nerds can be, most of the information necessary to make it through the FCC has been obscured from the eyes of the common folk. There's still some information to be gleaned here, though.
HTC already has two phones aside from the standard U11 under the same branding, the U11+ and U11 life, but it looks like a third variant may be about to join them. The interestingly-named U11 EYEs actually seems like it could be a pretty nice smartphone, judging from the specifications and photos leaked by famed leakster @evleaks - that is, aside from its inclusion of Android Nougat.
With Samsung slated to unveil the Galaxy S9-series of phones next month, it's actually a bit surprising how few leaks there have been. That might be about to change, though, with a photo of an alleged retail box for the Galaxy S9 having been posted on reddit. It reveals a decent amount of information, including a 'Super Speed' camera with an aperture of f/1.5, 'Super Slow-mo,' and stereo speakers that have been tuned by AKG.
Hangouts Meet is a service by Google that allows people to video conference with up to 50 people. Prior to today, however, its dial-in feature only worked in 15 countries. Now that figure has been upped to a total of 24, with the nine new countries all located in the continent of Europe.
Opera VPN first debuted in August 2016, claiming to offer a completely free solution that would block ads and make your browsing more secure. However, Opera has undergone quite a few changes since then, including a sale to a Chinese company (that hadn't been finalized when Opera VPN debuted), renaming its Android TV browser, and more. It's now disappeared from the Play Store, and we're not sure why.
