About Matthew Sholtz
Matthew is the Games and Apps Editor at Android Police. He's been gaming since his first taste of a TI-99 at four years old. Matthew has been an Android user since the HTC Hero and has covered roundups, reviews, and daily mobile game news for over a decade. He's a person who holds a peculiar yet deep interest in all things to do with handheld gaming and constantly pushes to advance the state of the mobile industry beyond the bounds of its predatory monetization obsession.
Matthew is a furious nitpicker and something of an (albeit amusing) curmudgeon, a writer who can instantly find fault in just about anything, yet he chooses to wield this power for good from the comfort of his armchair to ensure the best Android games and apps aren't lost to obscurity.

It's Wednesday, and I am still here covering for Jordan for the app sales post. Just like Monday's roundup, I have retained the formatting that Jordan uses. That means Free, and Sale apps are still split into two sections. It also means that any bolded text you see is there to highlight the apps that I have found personally interesting or worthwhile. Even the WTF section headed with ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ is here in all of its glory. Oh, and good news for all of you game lovers, you can see that there are quite a few standouts on sale today. So without further ado, go ahead and dig on in!

Have no fear fellow readers, Jordan will be back this Friday. Until then I will be your app sale guru. Seeing that I am new to this type of post, I hope to deliver as good of a list as my associate. I have retained any and all formatting used in previous listings. Obviously, you can see the ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ section is here as well. Keep in mind that this section is subjective, so my tastes may differ from Jordan's. With that said, let's get into some app sales!

Rubicon Development's War Game series has been running for quite some time. Six years ago the original Great Little War Game was released. At the time it was a diamond in the rough, which helped propel it to popularity. One year later, in 2012, Great Big War Game arrived on the Play Store as a follow-up to the success of the original. It took two years after the release of Great Big War Game to finally see a third sequel, Great Little War Game 2, which released in 2014. While it feels as though it has been a long time coming, we are now finally getting a fourth installment. It is titled Epic Little War Game, and it looks to have expanded on everything there is to love about the series.
It looks like we now know why the original Crazy Taxi was so recently resurrected as a free app on the Play Store. It was in preparation for today's release of Crazy Taxi Gazillionaire. That is right, there is now a new Crazy Taxi game out on the Play Store. But don't get your hopes up, as this is not a racing game in the slightest. This time around Sega has seen fit to borrow from the original's popularity and release an idle-tapper with a Crazy taxi skin.

That is right, it is now time to play the Feud, or you know, probably not. It would appear that UMI Mobile is the chosen publisher to bring us a new free-to-play Family Feud Android game. While I would love to say I am surprised to see that this title contains in-app purchases, two currencies, advertisements, and a subscription fee of $4.99 a month for VIP status, it was only inevitable that this is how someone would handle the release of this franchise onto mobile. So strap in folks, this is gonna be a bumpy ride.
I have to admit, Pokémon: Magikarp Jump is not what I expected when I first heard about this title. I had figured it would be a cash grab taking advantage of the Pokémon name, but in all actuality, it is an interesting casual game that just about anyone can enjoy.
Goat Simulator has seen a plethora of different games released under its franchise in the last few years. The gameplay has ranged from zombie survival to colonizing space, and everything in between. Well, it would appear that Coffee Stain Studios is not quite finished with the series as they have just released a new game onto Android titled Goat Simulator Payday. It takes the tried and true Goat Simulator gameplay and mashes it up with Payday's bank robbing mechanics. If robbing banks as a goat wearing a mask appeals to you, then you will probably want to check out Goat Simulator Payday, as it's most likely the only game that will ever fill that strange niche.
Straight out of a soft launch, PES2017 Pro Evolution Soccer is finally here. If you are looking for a soccer game that is as close to the console version as we will ever get, this is probably going to be your best choice. Sure the touch controls may not lend themselves well to such a highly strategic game, but hey, who cares when you can now play soccer on the go.
Prior to today, Prison Architect: Mobile was only available as a soft launch title in a few select countries. Well, that changes forthwith as it is officially available right now for all of us to enjoy. Well, to be specific, those of us with a tablet can enjoy it. Sadly the game is not compatible with non-tablet devices. But those of you who do happen to own an Android tablet, then it would appear that you are in luck.
Pixelbite, the creators of the Reckless Racing 1-3 and Reckless Getaway, have just released Reckless Getaway 2 onto the Play Store. If you are unfamiliar with the first title in the series, this sequel is more of the same, a getaway racing experience where your goal is to run from the cops as long as you can survive. Utilizing simple left and right controls and fancy graphics, Reckless Getaway 2 is a great convergence of casual and core gaming.
