Sega has been releasing new Android games for their SEGA Forever program on a bi-weekly basis for quite a while now. Sonic CD Classic is the latest to hit the Play Store. It is, of course, an HD port of the classic Sega CD platformer. Just like every other SEGA Forever release, Sonic CD Classic is a free-to-play title with a single $1.99 in-app purchase to remove the game's plentiful advertisements. Sadly I do not recommend spending any of your money on this release, which I will detail in full below.
Well, well, well. Look at what we have here. Greenheart Games has just released its video game business simulation title Game Dev Tycoon on the Play Store. You can pick it up right now for the low price of $4.99, which is a whole $5 cheaper than the PC version. And better yet, this mobile port is still a premium release, so there is no need to worry about any intrusive advertisements or in-app purchases.
Dissidia Final Fantasy Omnia just came out of pre-registration and is officially available on the Play Store. It is a free-to-play gacha RPG that has centered its theme around the Playstation Portable's series of Dissidia Final Fantasy games. Unlike the original PSP titles (and the new PS4 title), the gameplay is turn-based, though it does use the familiar Brave/HP offense/defense system just like the originals.

The first thing you will notice about Flip : Surfing Colors is how beautiful it looks. Its colorful theme and simple yet detailed characters and environments show off LeftRight's knack for design. But as we all know, a great looking game doesn't always equal a fun one. Luckily Flip : Surfing Colors' snowboarding-like gameplay and its interesting use of color matching as a primary mechanic means this isn't just another run-of-the-mill endless runner on Android.
MapleStory M is Nexon's latest attempt to bring the MapleStory MMORPG to Android. They had tried previously in 2015 with the release of Pocket MapleStory, but fans of the PC version were none too happy with the changes made to the game and its god-awful controls. It has since been removed, but that doesn't mean Nexon has given up on bringing the franchise to mobile. In October of 2016 MapleStory M was released in Korea, but there was no word about an English release. Well, it looks like we now know for sure that an English version is coming stateside because a public beta is up on the Play Store right now.

Jam City's upcoming RPG Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery (not to be confused with Niantic's planned augmented reality Harry Potter title "Wizard's Unite") has just had a teaser trailer released that shows off a few key details of the game. It would appear that players will be creating a personalized Hogwarts student avatar to then roleplay what it would be like to attend classes, learn magical skills, and form friendships or rivalries in the Harry Potter universe.
World of Warships Blitz is billed as a free-to-play mobile action MMO. It is from Wargaming World, the publisher of the hit mobile World War 2 military tank shooter World of Tanks Blitz. The Blitz line of Android games are of course smaller scale mobile-friendly versions of Wargaming's range of free-to-play PC games.

Back in June of 2017 Star Wars: Rivals was released as a soft launch title in Australia and New Zealand. At that time I did a brief hands-on with the cover-based corridor shooter. Well, it would appear an official launch is nearing because as of yesterday Disney announced that Star Wars: Rivals is now officially available for pre-registration. This sadly means that most people still won't be able to install the game. But I have some good news, there is a simple way to gain access to the title and download it right now.
DC Unchained is without a doubt DC Comics' take on the popular free-to-play mobile brawler Marvel Future Fight. You form teams of three heroes and villains to take on level after level of nondescript henchmen, all for the purpose of slowly but surely unlocking and leveling up your favorite characters from the comics. So while it is nice that we now have a DC-themed brawler to play with our favorite childhood DC Comic characters, the gameplay in this FTP mobile brawler is just as uninspired and grindy as ever.
OrangePixel's Ashworld interestingly combines open-world survival gameplay with 2D platforming in a strange mashup of pixel-based post-apocalyptic madness. It was initially released on PC back in September of 2017, and it hit iOS three months later in December. But as always, Android users have to wait patiently for their turn. Well, it would appear that Ashworld has finally landed on the Google Play Store as of this morning and you can grab it right now for $3.99.
