Yesterday Tencent Games opened up the PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Mobile beta as a soft-launch listing on the Play Store that is freely available to players in Canada. Today I have sideloaded the APK and necessary OBB files in order to test it out and see how its development is shaping up. So far the performance has been excellent, though the touchscreen controls aren't great.

My Tamagotchi Forever has been available as a soft-launch title in Canada for the past few months, but it looks as though Bandai Namco is ready for the rest of us to get a taste of its new free-to-play virtual pet simulation game thanks to it officially releasing today on the Play Store. You can expect plenty of traditional Tamagotchi gameplay such as feeding and washing your digital pet, though there are a few new mechanics added on top that extend the longevity while also stuffing in a few too many in-app purchases.
Stampede Games may sound familiar thanks to their previous release Evo Explores, which happens to look and play a lot like Monument Valley. Well, it would appear that the developer has released an all-new puzzle game for Android called .projekt, and I have to say it's quite striking. But even if you ignore the well-thought-out art direction, the puzzle-based gameplay holds its own while offering up a solid challenge worth the asking price.

Valve has apparently been working with known Magic: The Gathering designer Richard Garfield since 2014 to come up with an all-new game for PC, consoles, and mobile. It is called Artifact, and it's a Dota 2-themed collectible card game that looks like it will be Valve's answer to Hearthstone. The console and PC release dates are scheduled for the end of 2018, but the sad news is that it will not be hitting Android until mid-2019.

Three days ago I wrote about the upcoming release of Beamdog's Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear for Android. It was scheduled to hit the Play Store on the 8th, and it actually released on time. Essentially this is a port of the standalone expansion for Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition. It uses the same engine as the Enhanced Edition, which means it looks and plays exactly like the rest of Beamdog's CRPGs. So if you enjoyed their previous releases, this new 30-hour campaign should offer plenty more fun within the Baldur's Gate universe.

Akupara Games' recent release Keep in Mind: Remastered is at its core a walking simulator that confronts heavy concepts like alcoholism and depression. Needless to say, this isn't your average mobile game. It most definitely won't appeal to a mass audience, though for those of you who are interested, it does explore some of the darker sides of average suburban life.
Just last week I wrote a piece about Rayark International's rhythm-based game Cytus II coming to Android soon because it was finally listed on the Play Store for pre-registration. We had no information on the official release date at that time, but we didn't have to wait too long as Cytus II is now officially available. You can currently purchase the base game for $1.39, which is 30% off of the regular price. But make sure to grab it soon as this sale will only last for the first week.
MidBoss's Read Only Memories: Type-M is an Android port of the PC game 2064: Read Only Memories. It is a tech-noir point and click adventure game inspired by the classic cyberpunk-themed graphic adventure Snatcher. It has been enhanced for mobile play by including an improved interface that is geared towards touchscreen devices. But best of all the first chapter is available for free, so you can test the game out before you decide to buy.
A few months back Warner Bros. released a Westworld simulation game on the Play Store as a limited soft-launch testing release. Sadly it was region locked, which means anyone outside of the testing region was unable to play it. Well, that all changes today as Warner Bros. have just opened up their beta to the majority of Android users. Yep, that's right, there is a Westworld game available on the Play Store, and you can install it right now.
That's right, after almost a year of The Sims Mobile existing as a soft launch testing release, Electronic Arts has finally seen fit to open the floodgates and officially push this title out to the rest of the world. But before you get too excited, it is sadly just like every other The Sims mobile game on our platform. This means you can expect plenty of wait timers and in-app purchases that range up to $99.99 per item.
Apparently with the approaching theatrical release of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom there is going to be a tie-in mobile game published on Android that apes the augmented reality gameplay found in Niantic's games Ingress and Pokémon Go. This upcoming title is called Jurassic World: Alive and it is scheduled to hit the Play Store sometime this Spring. It's being developed by Ludia Games, a company that has already published 2 other Jurassic-themed mobile games in the past. So hopefully they know what they are doing with the property.

Beamdog's Baldur's Gate is a much-beloved CRPG classic that was ported over to Android as an enhanced edition fit for HD screens back in 2014. In 2016 an all-new expansion was released for PC. It is called Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear. Surprisingly an official tweet from the developer states that this expansion is coming to Android as a 30-hour standalone release on March 8th, which is excitingly only 3 days away.

Madfinger Games' Shadowgun Legends has been in development for so long at this point that I completely forgot about it. But apparently, Madfinger is still plugging away. The official company Twitter recently tweeted that it will be releasing on March 22nd. So yeah, we will have to wait just a little while longer, though it's reassuring that they felt confident enough to finally mention a date.
It isn't often that Atari brings new games to the Play Store, which is why I wanted to take a closer look at their upcoming release Night Driver. If the name sounds familiar, well, that is because it's an old arcade game originally developed by Atari back in 1976 that was also ported later to the Atari 2600 and Commodore 64. This soft-launched mobile version is supposed to be a reimagining of the original racer, with all-new graphics and gameplay. It's also a free-to-play title with plenty of in-app purchases. So don't get your hopes up too high just yet.
