About Matthew Sholtz

Matthew is the Games and Apps Editor at Android Police. He's been gaming since his first taste of a TI-99 at four years old. Matthew has been an Android user since the HTC Hero and has covered roundups, reviews, and daily mobile game news for over a decade. He's a person who holds a peculiar yet deep interest in all things to do with handheld gaming and constantly pushes to advance the state of the mobile industry beyond the bounds of its predatory monetization obsession.

Matthew is a furious nitpicker and something of an (albeit amusing) curmudgeon, a writer who can instantly find fault in just about anything, yet he chooses to wield this power for good from the comfort of his armchair to ensure the best Android games and apps aren't lost to obscurity.

How to get 30 free classic Gameloft games for Android in a single app

To everyone's surprise, Gameloft's classic mobile games are available once again

If you've been nostalgic for a round of Block Breaker Deluxe or a trip to the world of Gangstars 2, you're in luck: everyone's sometimes-favorite mobile game developer finally heard you. Gameloft's roots, creating quality clones that aren't filled with in-app purchases, were long a reason for the popularity of the company's titles, and its newest release fully embraces that beloved (if slightly cringe-y) tradition. In celebration of twenty years in the industry (and some questionable lifting of ideas), Gameloft has released a game collection app called Gameloft Classics: 20 Years. It brings with it a total of 30 classic games, but be warned, these titles are from the flip phone era, and so the titles currently available only cover Gameloft's earliest releases.

The Five Nights at Freddy's survival horror franchise is a popular one, which means there are more than a few titles out there already. Ultimate Custom Night is a game that takes all of the best bits from the other titles in the series, which is why the developer labels Ultimate Custom Night as an FNaF mashup. Pokémon Rumble Rush hasn't even been available in the US for a year yet (since it was originally released in the West in May 2019), and The Pokémon Company has already announced that it will close the game on July 22nd, 2020. Pokémon Rumble Rush clearly had issues during development, which is why it was originally known as Pokéland back in 2017, promptly falling off the map until 2019 when it reappeared under the new name, but was still under development. Once Pokémon Rumble Rush was officially launched across the globe in May 2019, it was clear the title was released as a cash grab to soak up money before the developer completely abandoned it, which we now know will take place this July.
