Gears POP has proven to be the failure everyone expected, closing next April

Microsoft says the game is too expensive to run

4
By

In August 2019 Microsoft released a Clash Royale clone called Gears POP, which is themed around the popular vinyl toy line while offering tons of cutesy Gears of War characters. Of course, connecting a toy line to a popular gaming genre doesn't guarantee success, especially when you idiotically tie adorable graphics to a historically mature line of games. I suppose this is why Microsoft has announced that it will shutter Gears POP on April 26th, 2021.

By

Well, it's official, Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to Stadia on the same day it will release on every other platform, November 19th. Up until today CD Projekt's official stance was that the game would arrive on Stadia before the year was out even through the studio offered a release date for every other platform, calling into question whether or not the game would arrive on Stadia on the same launch day as PC and consoles. Thankfully CD Projekt has tweeted that the game will arrive on Stadia on the 19th of November, and if you're eager to get your hands on the title, pre-ordering is now available on the Stadia store.

FAR: Lone Sails is a gorgeous atmospheric adventure game, now available on Android

A visual masterpiece with middling touch controls

4
By

If you've never heard of it, FAR: Lone Sails is a stylish adventure game that's existed on PC since 2018, and it's a well-reviewed title that offers a story-rich experience without displaying a word on the screen. Primarily I would describe the release as a relaxing game that offers gameplay similar to indies like Inside, where the goal is to always move to the right to advance the story, and there's a unique Howl's Moving Castle mechanic in this release that will see you control a massive vehicle as it sails across a dried-out seabed. Of course, roadblocks are expected as you explore this desert, and so you'll solve puzzles to continue your journey forward.

And if you're more interested in tangible hobbies, perhaps the stargazing app Stellarium Mobile PLUS is more your speed. Terraria update Journey's End comes to Android with new content and fixes

The mobile version of Terraria is now on v1.4

Terraria is an open-world sandbox survival game that arrived on PC back in 2011, which was then ported to Android in 2013. Since 2013 the game has often languished on mobile thanks to a lack of updates and controller support. Luckily both of these issues have been rectified in the last year or so, which is why Terraria just received the Journey's End update (v1.4) on the Play Store.

Dead Cells Legacy Update brings tons of content to the hit roguelike, now available on Android

This means you can expect new difficulty settings, biomes, enemies, bosses, weapons, skills, and mutations

4
By

Dead Cells is an extremely popular roguelike that was ported to Android back in June (2020), though the mobile version is on a different upgrade path compared to the console or PC versions. This is why the Legacy Update landed on PC back in 2019 and is only now arriving on mobile. Luckily it would appear the wait was worth it since today's update brings with it a plethora of new features and content to the Android version that's all available for free if you already own the game.
