Spreadsheets: you build them up with data points, make the rules by dropping down formulae, then watch them not make sense when an exception occurs. We can't help you with that, but maybe Google Sheets can make the interminable process more tolerable with its new context-aware formula suggestions.

Right now it only supports the new Galaxy Watch4

Whether you're hosting a big movie night outside or just like to fill up empty wall space in your house, you might want to pick up one of Anker's Android-powered portable projectors. The Nebula Astro Mini and Nebula Apollo are on sale at their best prices to date. The Astro Mini (seen above) prizes size above everything else and it shows: the cube measures less than 4 inches each side and weighs just 13 ounces. The device can throw a 100" image at 480p with its 100-lumen lamp, estimated to last 30,000 hours, and has a 3W speaker. A remote is included in the box — there's obviously Bluetooth and Wi-Fi support — but the projector can also be controlled through your phone with the Nebula Connect app. Similarly, content can be fed through other devices via Casting or HDMI and the Astro Mini takes data and charge with its USB-C port. Samsung's big pitch for the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Flip3 appears to have landed a hit. The company has confirmed that it has logged the most global pre-orders for the new foldable phones ever, eclipsing sales of existing Galaxy Z models year-to-date. Unofficial numbers from South Korea may give us an idea of how big this stack actually is.

Camping and cabin seasons are going long and strong and if you have any reason to participate in them without leaving the grid, you'll definitely need a power plant to match your needs. Consider, then, Anker's 500W portable power station, on sale now for 25% off.The PowerHouse II is capable of 500W of typical output and 770W of peak output with a capacity of 777Wh — that's about 5 days of power for a lamp or internet router and 3 hours of power for an 85" TV. It has all the ports: two AC, two DC, two USB-C, four USB-A, and a car socket. It's able to take in charge at up to 120W via dedicated DC or Anderson inputs (if you've got a solar panel with you) as well as the car and USB-C ports.

Google Photos gives the Mars rover a trip down Memories lane

We're far from Yonkers OR Delmonico's at this point

It's been 6 months since NASA's selfie-capable Perseverance rover hit the iron oxide floor of Mars. "Percy," as some affectionately call the bot, has been exceptionally useful in that short span despite only trekking just under one-and-a-quarter miles of surface. It's also taken more than 125,000 captivating pictures during its stay. Some of them made the creative folks at Google wonder "what if Perseverance had a Google Photos account?"

We're one step away from officially being able to call Saygus a 'fraud'

Right now, we can say it's an alleged fraud

You may barely remember Utah-based Saygus as a vaporware company that was constantly promoting a revolutionary smartphone for the power user that it never actually released. The federal government, though, wants to officially stick one particular title to its founder: fraudster.

Facebook has been slow to implement end-to-end encryption for its messaging apps, but the baby steps continue to happen nevertheless. Today, it announced the introduction of opt-in E2EE for voice and video calls in Messenger.

"Chat heads" have been roundly criticized by Android users as one of the most annoying user experiences and design aspects on the platform. Those peeved by the so-called bubbles may soon find at least some relief with Android 12, as Google's dialer app looks to go in a new direction with chips.

Android 12 Beta 4 makes notifications in landscape easier or harder to use

We screenshot, you decide (and complain)

By

Those using Android 12 Beta 4 in landscape orientation are looking at a lot more space and a lot less notification content today. As part of the new release, Google seems to have adjusted padding to the left and right of items in the notification shade while in landscape — a potential ergonomic and consistency boon, but it might upset those that actually liked the extra content.

The announcement's out. In the U.S., the Galaxy Z Flip3 is priced at $1,000 for the 128GB version and $1,050 for the 256GB version while the Fold3 with 256GB or 512GB of storage sits at $1,800 and $1,900. Both come up for pre-orders today and they'll ship from August 27. Now comes all of the ways to cut down that total and fill up your cart from your friendly neighborhood carrier, retailer, and/or Samsung itself.

The $1,800 Galaxy Z Fold3 doesn't come with a charger

But if you can afford to buy it, does it matter?

How does a manufacturer fill a product box? Does it do so with the consumer in mind where everything required for a rich and full user experience is included? Or does frugal intent take over, nickeling and diming accessories like a wall adapter or a stylus in order to recoup margins missed by pricing your third series of foldable phones at their lowest prices yet? For the Galaxy Z Flip3 and Fold3, it seems Samsung is counting on the latter's resulting wow factor beyond all else as its leading motive.

Samsung has christened its third generation of mobile phones with folding displays. The debut of the Galaxy Z Fold3 phablet also comes support for an S Pen for the first time in the series while the clamshell-styled Flip3 brings plenty of flexing display surface for the lowest price offered yet, at least from this company. This refresh also introduces an even clearer divide in sorting out what type of consumer is meant to buy which device.
