Like it or not, gesture-based navigation is looking like it'll be the next way we get around our smartphones. We've seen several implementations at this point, with some clearly better than others, but all of the Android versions have thus far felt limited. So leave it to the development community to come up with something better. One + Gestures is one such effort. Despite the name, it's not limited to OnePlus phones — in fact, you can use it on any Android device.

Motorola's G line really kicked off actually good budget phones here in the US, and the brand continues to be one of the biggest players. Telegram has seen some major growth since the most recent privacy kerfuffles over on Facebook, mostly because of the service's staunch support for user privacy. In line with this, v5.5 (and v1.6.2 for desktop) adds some new features aimed at giving people more control over how they use Telegram. This amounts to an unlimited unsend feature for private chats and anonymous forwarding, as well as some other quality of life things.

GDC 2019 has been one of more the exciting instances that I can recall in recent memory. Not only have there been some tantalizing game announcements – seriously, I freaked when I saw the Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 trailer – but some interesting happenings in the game space itself. Google announced Stadia, the follow-up to last year's Project Stream. Yet not to be outdone, Microsoft decided to shed some light on its upcoming cloud gaming platform and Stadia competitor, xCloud.

In one of those TIL moments, it turns out that you can ask Assistant for a Play Store refund. That's cool, right? The big caveat (for some of you) is that you must be using US English for this. Otherwise, here's what Google says to ask/tell Assistant to get the process rolling.

Mozilla is one of the champions for internet freedom and privacy – which is part of why I love the company and its work – so it's no surprise that it "graduated" one of its experiments to a full-fledged product. Meet Firefox Send, a free, encrypted file-transfer service.

Another week is coming to a close, so here's one final round of app sales to send you off into the weekend. Today's list is shorter than Wednesday's and arguably better, even including Hook and Baldur's Gate, so have fun looking through what's on offer today.

Sales on the Nvidia Shield TV are relatively rare – as compared to some of our other favorite devices – so this one immediately caught my interest. You can grab the best Android TV box around and get a SmartThings Link for free, basically. You have to buy the Smart Home bundle, obviously. We've sung the praises of the Shield TV time and time again here on AP. It's one of my favorite pieces of technology in my home and it is, without a doubt, one of the best and longest supported smart devices on the market. If you don't know, the SmartThings Link is a USB dongle that you attach to the Shield TV and it turns the set-top box into a SmartThings hub. It's a pretty neat idea, though it's not without its faults. In essence, you're buying a Shield TV and getting the Link for free, since the normal Shield+remote costs $179. So far, I've seen this deal good straight from Nvidia and on Amazon, Best Buy, and Newegg, though the latter two are asking an a few cents more. It is a Prime-eligible item, too, if that matters to you.Buy: Amazon, Best Buy, Newegg, Nvidia

Another week is half done and that means it's time for another round of app sales. Today's list is quite underwhelming, but that's how it goes sometimes. Hopefully Friday's roundup will be better.

Looking for a new (or additional) Bluetooth speaker? Then listen up, because Amazon knocked $30 off the asking price of the UE Megaboom 3 and Boom 3, making them $169.99 and $119.99, respectively.Announced in the latter half of last year, both the Megaboom 3 and Boom 3 represent the latest in UE's impressive line up of Bluetooth speakers. Both feature the new "Magic Buttom," which is supposed to help you get your music going sooner. They're also IP67-certified and they can float in water thanks to an air pocket. The biggest difference between the two is the amount of bass they can pump out and how long their batteries last, but both are sure to impress. Whichever you decide to go with, the $30 savings is good on both. If you opt for the Boom 3, I hope you like black because that's the only color option on sale. For the Megaboom 3, you have your choice between black and blue.Buy: Amazon (Megaboom 3), (Boom 3)

Sometimes, we see really, really good deals pop up. Take this one, for example. B&H's DealZone today includes a 512GB dual-SIM Samsung Galaxy Note9 for $749.99, a whopping $500 off the $1,249.99 retail price.

One of the last bastions of the dying Android tablet market, Samsung's excellent-but-overpriced Galaxy Tab S4, is currently on sale over at Best Buy. Though at first glance, the deal is just a respectable $100 savings, it's the student discount that really shines. Assuming you sign up, you can get an additional $100 off the Tab S4, meaning that you'll only need to fork over $449.99.

We see a lot of Chromebook deals pop up from time to time, but today's, courtesy of Best Buy, is definitely one worth noting. Right now, you can pick up Lenovo's excellent Yoga Chromebook C630 (1080p model) for just $549, and you get a free Google Home Mini thrown in for good measure.

Welcome to another week. I hope that you're not too hungover from St. Patrick's Day, but if you are, I wish you a speedy recovery on this Monday morning. Today's list of app sales is inflated thanks to Motion Wallpapers putting its entire library up for free, but there are couple of goodies here (which you will find in bold).

As time has passed, we've seen Google slowly become more serious about a cohesive design language when it comes to Android, Chrome OS, and the Play Store. Taking one more step along that road, the company put out new app icon guidelines for app developers. This is meant to ensure uniformity in the Play Store and it will hopefully make it easier for you the user to have adaptive icons in your app drawer.

Welcome, all, to the end of another week. While we continue to dig through all of the good stuff in the Android Q Beta, I thought that you all might appreciate some app sales to pass the time. Today's list has a couple notable items, including Evoland 2 for $0.99 and the fantastic Planescape: Torment. But I won't keep you any longer — have at it and enjoy your weekend.
