The primary selling point for YouTube Red is being able to watch videos without any ads (while still paying content creators). YouTube Red also has a few original series and movies starring major YT personalities. I guess not enough people are watching the original content, because now YouTube is pushing full-screen ads for them.

The U Ultra is HTC's first flagship phone for 2017, and it didn't get great reviews. It's expensive, has poor battery life, lacks waterproofing and a headphone jack, and the US model only supports GSM networks. If you really wanted one for some reason, the U Ultra is now $150 off at HTC's website, along with several other phones.

Just like Chrome, Firefox has traditionally had four release channels - Nightly, Aurora, Beta, and Stable. There is also Firefox Developer Edition, only available on the desktop, which has been based on Aurora. Now, in an effort to consolidate resources and focus development, the Aurora release channel is being dropped.

Back in February, the YouTube app on Android added the ability to livestream straight from your phone/tablet, much like Periscope and Instagram Live. There was one catch - your channel needed at least 10,000 subscribers to use the feature. Now Google appears to be dropping that requirement, expanding live streaming to even more users.

Sony's Concept is an optional program for Xperia X owners, which switches out the custom Xperia software for a nearly-stock Android ROM. Android 7.1.2 was released for Nexus and Pixel phones only two weeks ago, and it looks like Sony will be the first OEM besides Google to push the update.

Over the past few years, Motorola has produced several phones exclusive to Verizon. This includes the Z Force Droid, Moto Z Droid, Moto Z Play Droid, Droid Turbo 2, and more. But according to a recent tweet from Evan Blass, the next Moto Z Force may be sold outside of Big Red.

Motorola's upcoming super low-range phones, the Moto C and C Plus, were first leaked yesterday. With even worse specs than the Moto E lineup (with presumably a far lower price), the phones likely won't even be sold in the United States. Now more photos of the Moto C phones have leaked, in addition to two other upcoming Motorola devices.

Alongside the introduction of the Galaxy S8, Samsung showed off its new Gear 360 camera. Like last year's model, it has two fish-eye lenses to capture 360-degree video. Now the app has showed up on the Play Store, and we have the APK.

'The Pilot,' the first episode of Doctor Who season 10, aired yesterday worldwide. The new season comes about a year and a half after the final episode of season 9, so it's been quite the wait for fans of the show. To celebrate, the episode is currently free on Google Play, along with the first episode of Class, the latest Doctor Who spinoff.

Motorola has been one leaky ship recently. We first heard of the Moto C, the company's new low-end lineup, earlier this week. Just a day later, pictures of the new phone surfaced, alongside images of the upcoming Moto Z2 Force. Now, 3D renders for both the Z2 Force and Moto E4 Plus have leaked.

The HTC U Ultra was released earlier this year, and reviews of the device were mixed at best. However, the company's second 2017 flagship, code-named 'Ocean,' is yet to be released. But now we know what it will look like.

I'm told there is some sort of basketball tournament going on right now. To celebrate, Google has released an NBA sticker pack for Allo. You know, that chat app that Google really wants you to try out.

The issue tracker for the Android Open Source Project, more commonly known as AOSP, has always used Google Code. However, Code was completely shut down in 2016 (with most projects being forced to read-only in 2015), but the AOSP repository remained active.

Google Now on Tap was introduced alongside Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which used context on your screen to help you find information. Google Assistant replaced Now on Tap (for compatible devices), and carried over most of its functionality. Now Assistant is making it slightly more obvious that it can search your screen and take screenshots.

Once upon a time, Instagram was just for sharing photos, mostly of food. But over the past year or so, the app greatly expanded in functionality. Live streaming is now supported, multi-photo posts have been added, and the app now has Snapchat-like disappearing photos and videos.

Web browsers have several major components, including the rendering engine (the part that displays web pages) and JavaScript engine (the part that runs scripts in pages). V8 was created alongside Chrome, and is used in many other browsers and runtimes based on the Chrome codebase.

Always-listening voice assistants, like Google Now/Assistant or Alexa, can't really tell the difference between you talking and someone else (unless you have Trusted Voice enabled on Android). Maybe you've watched a few tech videos where someone said "Ok Google," and your phone started talking back.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 has plenty of great features - the edge-to-edge "Infinity" display, top-end specs, configurable software navigation buttons, and more. Samsung's Bixby voice assistant has been a bit controversial, as most of its functionality is already available in Google Assistant and the Google Now feed. Now it looks like a major component of Bixby won't even be ready before the phone's release in the United States.

There isn't really an easy way to run Android applications on the desktop. There are virtualization tools like AMIDuOS and Bluestacks, but those run Android apps inside a fixed window and can be slow at times. Anbox is a new project, currently in the Alpha stage, which aims to run apps alongside your normal desktop applications - as long as you use Linux.

This has happened to me more times than I can count - I'm trying to read an article, but the page continues to load in more content, constantly shifting my position on the page. This is far more annoying on mobile, where your screen space is limited, but it is a problem on the desktop as well. Google has been working to address this problem with 'page anchoring.'
