About Aatif Sumar

Aatif has been captivated by the green robot since the Galaxy S. He enjoys not crashing flying his drone, night photography, and advocating for the Shield TV. Anker has cemented itself as a trusted brand in the audio accessories and battery arena and is known for offering a blend of quality and value. If you're on the lookout for a speaker or earphones, today's Amazon Gold Box deals have several Anker Bluetooth speakers and true-wireless earbuds on sale at all-time low prices.

Last year, we brought you word of the Galaxy View 2, the successor to 2015's 18-inch monstrosity of a tablet, the Galaxy View. In a set of leaked renders obtained by SamMobile, we now get a glimpse at this "slimmed-down" sequel.

Finding openings for remote positions through conventional job portals can be a pain — jobs are usually filtered by location first, so you end up having to conduct a lot of different searches. To help alleviate this problem, Google Search, which also lists job openings (formerly called 'Google for Jobs'), has added tools to help both remote employers and employees find each other.

Are you on the lookout for a cheap telly? It seems like manufacturers made too many Fire TVs, because we're seeing them pretty remarkable deals from Toshiba and Insignia on 4K TVs.

We're less than a fortnight away from I/O 2019 — an enlightening few days for Android enthusiasts, and Google has dropped a new version of the I/O app into the Play Store. A few new features have been added this year, though some can only be enjoyed by those attending I/O in person.

There are a lot of good portable speakers out there, but most come with just Bluetooth and AUX input options. The JBL Link 300 is a Bluetooth speaker that also has Google Assistant and Cast support, making it a Google Home of sorts. JBL is currently selling the certified refurbished Link 300 for $80 on its website — that's $45 less than a new speaker at Best Buy and $170 off the $250 MSRP.

What would you do upon getting your hands on the Huawei P30 Pro, one of the year's hottest smartphones? If you're Zack from JerryRigEverything, you'd celebrate by bending, scratching, and burning the device — all in the name of science.

AT&T Communications CEO John Donovan won't be smiling now — while T-Mobile and Verizon calling out AT&T's "5GE" antics may have amused him, news of the federal lawsuit filed by Sprint against the company likely will not. In a strongly-worded complaint filed with the Southern District of New York, Sprint is looking to get AT&T to stop referring to its 4G LTE Advanced network by the misleading term 5G Evolution, or any other similar name with the words 5G in it.

Are you done with this year's spring cleaning? Amazon sure isn't, as evidenced by its continuing markdowns on Prime Exclusive smartphones. The Moto G6 was first discounted to $170, and then to $140. The Moto X4 too dropped to $130 a few weeks ago and is now marked down another ten bucks to $120. That's a lot of phone for not that much money.

Linux on DeX, announced at a developer conference last year, is a program that lets you run Linux (Ubuntu, in this case) on your Samsung smartphone or tablet, turning it into a full-fledged computer. Initially, it only worked on the Galaxy Note 9 and Tab S4, but with today's update, both Galaxy S9 and S10 families are now supported (along with, for some reason, the mid-range Tab S5e).

Flash storage prices are a constant race to the bottom, but I still find myself amazed at some deals, like today's sale on the 200GB SanDisk Ultra microSD card. At a price of just $25, or 12.50¢/GB, this marks a new low for the SanDisk Ultra lineup, with all the other cards in this category being priced between 15 and 20¢/GB.

Google Sheets, which recently crossed the half-billion installs milestone, is a handy tool to create shared spreadsheets that can be co-edited in real-time. Today, the Google Docs team announced a series of tweaks aimed to improve the experience of formatting images, charts, and Pivot Tables.

Have you been eying the Huawei P30 or P30 Pro? While you can't officially buy them from Huawei in the US, popular retailer B&H is now accepting pre-orders for the devices, promising delivery from April 29th.

Facebook has been teasing the highly-requested dark mode in Messenger since last year's F8 conference, but so far it was only tested in a few countries. It looks like the feature is now available for all Android users — all you have to do is send someone a moon emoji!

Keeping a spare smartphone around the house can be a wise move. When a family member loses their phone, you have a decent alternative ready, because no one wants to use your five-year-old Galaxy. You also don't have to rush to buy an expensive replacement, but can wait for a good deal to present itself. The Moto X4 makes an excellent spare phone, and at just $130 ($10 below the $140 it had previously dropped to), it won't cost you too much.

With Snapdragon 855-running smartphones around the corner, we've begun to see markdowns on "older" flagships that are powered by the S845 SoC. Today's sale on the Razer Phone 2 (which is just a few months old) is one such instance — it can be had for $500, down from $800.The Razer Phone 2 is the gaming company's second smartphone and is a solid gaming device — our review praised the 120Hz display and RGB lighting on the back (if that's your thing). The device has been regularly updated — it recently received Android 9 Pie and also picked up 60fps video recording.Since the phone's release, competition in the gaming space has heated up — Asus now sells a ROG phone, and lower-priced gaming phones have entered the market, like the Nubia Red Magic Mars. It should be noted that Razer recently announced layoffs, possibly in the phone division, so a Razer Phone 3 is far from a sure thing. You can buy the Razer Phone 2 directly from the company, or Amazon. We even saw a few open-box listings for $450, if you don't mind a phone that isn't brand-new.

How often do you check your notifications? According to ActionDash, I receive about 500 notifications a day, unlocking my phone about 100 times, with half of these unlocks being for sessions shorter than a minute. These interruptions break my flow and reduce productivity levels, but my FOMO makes me check the phone anyway. There's a new app being tested to help deal with this: Daywise.

The brand new Galaxy Buds can be had for under a Benjamin over at AT&T — courtesy a 25% off promotional sale on Samsung accessories. Only the black variant is in stock at the time of publishing, with free shipping or in-store pickup. I don't foresee this lasting too long, so you should probably hurry though.

Twitter has become the de-facto mouthpiece of everyone from the head-of-state to the neighborhood headcase, and the level of discourse often falls to that of a middle school playground. Unlike your 'permanent record' though, tweets can have real-life consequences — whether it be getting arrested, becoming universally hated, or harm falling your way by someone leaked your private information online (also called doxing). Twitter's spam reporting mechanism is often overwhelmed, leading to long lead times in removing sensitive data, so today the company added a step which it hopes will help prioritize such cases.

It's hardly a secret that OnePlus follows the design language of a current Oppo smartphone — OnePlus 6T took after the Oppo R17 Pro/F9, OnePlus 6 after the Oppo R15 Pro/F7, OnePlus 5T after the Oppo R11S/F5, and OnePlus 5 after the Oppo R11/F3. If this trend continues, the OnePlus 7 may end up looking a lot like the Oppo F11 Pro, which just went on sale in the Indian market.
