[New Game] Pinball Arcade For Android Brings The Glory Days Of Pinball Back, Doesn't Require Quarters

The arcade may have killed the pinball star, but like the Rubik's cube or the Slinky before it, pinball machines have refused to disappear. Pinball Arcade, from Farsight Studios, brings back several classic pinball tables from major players in the pinball industry. Each table also comes with a brief description of its history.

Tables licensed from Williams, Bally, Stern, and Gottlieb have been recreated in impeccable detail. Gameplay and physics are fluid and the flippers are responsive with virtually no lag, which is critical in a game of reaction times.

Minecraft Pocket Edition For Android Gets An Update, Adds Survival Mode, Sheep, And Zombies

Minecraft is the world's most popular online multiplayer not-quite-Lego creativity tool/game with 8-bit graphics and zombies. It's also an Android game. Until recently, though, Minecraft Pocket Edition was limited to creativity mode, only a few materials, and players lacked the ability to fly. Today, that all changes. Minecraft Pocket Edition just got a whole lot more like Minecraft Normal Edition with the addition of Survival Mode, plus a ton of other new features.

No, There Is No Proof Instagram For Android Is Around The Corner - Just Fake Crap Advertising More Fake Crap

Last week, a "report" by InFlexWeTrust showed a screencap of a popup that invited users to download a "featured" app - Instagram for Android.

With all the crapware pushing AirPush ads to your notification bar that we've seen last week (including the fake Pinterest, Temple Run, and - drumroll - Instagram) and all the clues regarding this so obviously fake Instagram app, one would have thought a bit of caution by the blogosphere would have been a good idea.

[The Cake Is Not A Lie] Proof-Of-Concept Build Of Portal (Yes, That Portal) For Android Floating Around, Looks Promising

Yep, I'm 100% serious. Right now, on my phone, is an alpha, proof-of-concept build of Portal. No, it's not official (it's definitely not supported by VALVe Software in any way), but it is tantalizingly awesome. Now, before you ask, we aren't going to link to the apk - it's from a pretty sketchy source. But if you look hard enough, you'll probably be able to find it out there in some of the darker corners of the web.

[New Game] Dojo Madness Pits You Against Dozens Of Animal Martial Arts Masters, Totally Isn't Kung Fu Panda

When an app comes out that not-so-subtly takes inspiration from major motion pictures, we're tempted to look the other way. The exception, of course, is if they're good. Dojo Madness is one of those exceptions. You play as a ninja raccoon that must defend his dojo from evil wolves, gorillas, and turtles. Also, you shoot blue laser balls.

The app has a very Fruit Ninja feel to it, with the dojo aesthetic and the fast-paced gameplay.

[Hands-On] Magic Portals Teleports An Addictive Portal-Like Sidescroller Onto Your Android Device

Seeing as I'm hopelessly addicted to Portal and Portal 2, I was pretty excited when we came across Asantee's new game Magic Portals. Basically, it's a physics-based puzzler that revolves around the whole portal concept. While it obviously isn't exactly unique, it is absolutely entertaining and fun to play.

So as I said before, the whole game is based on portals - hence the title. As we all know, portals aren't really a magical phenomenon, though.

Google Wallet's PIN Verification Cracked (Again), No Root Access Required

Yesterday, a security firm called zvelo demonstrated a vulnerability within Google Wallet, cracking its PIN verification system using brute force, giving Wallet access to anyone who had the exploit. It was also revealed that the hack only worked on rooted devices, and Google swiftly reported that a fix for the bug was already being worked on.

Adding to Google Wallet's security worries, a new hack was posted online today, claiming to give access to Google Wallet (sans PIN) on non-rooted devices, requiring just a few steps to gain user information (and funds).

[New App Hands-On] Snap Photos Of Your Junk Mail With PaperKarma - Watch It Automatically ID Them And Unsubscribe You, Saving Earth One Letter At A Time

Everyone hates junk mail, right? I'm not talking about spam emails you get in your inbox on a daily basis, which you may not even notice if you're using Gmail. I'm talking about those pesky paper ads that arrive over snail mail almost every single day, burying the lone letters you do actually care about in an ocean of, well, crap.

Last week, I ran into a website called http://www.yellowpagesoptout.com which finally let me opt out of the 1500-pound Yellow Book.
