Com2Us Ports A Popular iOS Game Slice It! Over To Android, Available Now Via GetJar

Whenever a game as polished as Slice It! comes out, you pretty much have no choice but to download and try it out - Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja are great examples of such games, and Slice It! from Com2Us does not disappoint. Not to be confused with Fruit Ninja-like games where you have to slice fruit in the air, in Slice It!, you have to divide various shapes into equal sizes in order to advance.

Eight New OpenFeint Titles Launching Today

As far as social gaming networks go, OpenFeint's really been a huge hit - according to the company, OpenFeint-enabled games have been downloaded over eight million times in their first 60 days. Additionally, the network has seen some 1.6 million Android devices visiting from 176 different countries. As impressive as that is, interest in OpenFeint isn't dying - far from it, as today marks the launch of eight OpenFeint-enabled games, some new and some getting OpenFeint capabilities:

Of course, we'll have to wait for reviewers to get their hands on the new games to assess their quality, but if past OpenFeint-enabled games are any indication, these are fun times ahead of us!

AppBrain App Receives Major Update To v5

If you use AppBrain for all of your Android app downloads, then you'll want to update the app as soon as possible: the latest update to version five includes all of the following awesome new features:

  • Details page for every app
  • Related apps tab
  • Ability to share through any sharing app on your phone
  • Fast Web Installer now integrated
  • Fast Sync Widget

Unfortunately, the integration of the Fast Web Installer probably won't help thanks to the new Market update breaking it, but with plenty of other new features this update is still pretty substantial.

Google's Latest Market Updates Nerf AppBrain’s Fast Web Installer

The recent update to the Android Market had plenty of people excited about new features to be available in Gingerbread, but it seems like the update may have had some unpleasant side effects. The Appbrain Fast Web Installer feature, which allowed users to push application downloads to their phones straight from Appbrain.com, is now broken due to new security measures. Some naysayers may think that Google is going directly after Appbrain, but in reality, the reasons are much less nefarious.

iControlPad Bluetooth Gamepad Design Finalized, Units To Be Available By The End Of November

If you excuse the name (it started as an iPhone-only device), the iControlPad appears to be a pretty nice solution for "real" gaming on a touchscreen phone. Culled from left-over Open Pandora gaming console parts, the iControlPad includes dual analog sticks along with rear trigger buttons. The device pairs with your phone over Bluetooth, so it should be supported by your favorite emulators. Craig Rothwell of the iCP/OPP team has just posted a video updating folks on the status of the project, finishing by saying that we should see the iControlPad shipping out by the end of the month.

Angry Birds Updated: 45 New Levels, New Storyline And A New Bird!

Just when you thought your torment was over, Rovio have struck back with a glut of new levels. Some pigs just never learn, do they? Also included in the update is proper QVGA support, a dour-looking boulder bird, as well as fixes for some graphical issues. Best part about it? Rovio haven't removed the bug found on reddit that allows you to skip locked worlds, so you can go straight to these new levels even if you haven't passed the worlds before it.
