Verizon's 2018 Galaxy J3 and Galaxy J3V finally get Android 9 Pie

Now that Android Q is nearly here, we're getting to the point where rolling out Pie updates is somewhat embarrassing. It's certainly better than staying on Android 8 Oreo forever, but it definitely should take this long. The latest phones to get Pie are the 2018 models of the Galaxy J3 and J3V on Verizon, which were originally released in June of last year.

[Update: Downloads] Android 9 Pie now rolling out to OnePlus 3 and 3T

As unfortunate as it sounds, it's rare for an Android phone to get major updates two years after release. Google and Samsung have done it on occasion, but it's far from the norm. OnePlus received plenty of praise when it announced that the OnePlus 3 and 3T, both released in 2016, would get Android 9 Pie. Motorola cancels Android 9 Pie update for Z2 Force on Sprint, T-Mobile, and AT&T

Motorola said last year that it would update The Moto Z2 Force to Android Pie, along with a raft of newer phones. A Moto rep has now confirmed that it will only release Pie for the Verizon edition because it needs Pie for 5G Moto Mod support. Everyone else is out of luck.
