Samsung promised that the S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, and Note 5 would be getting Nougat in the first half of 2017 and it's starting to fulfill its end of the deal now. Galaxy Note 5 and S6 edge+ devices on Sprint are one of the first to benefit from an OTA update that takes their devices up to Android 7.0.

If you own one of these two late 2015 flagships on Sprint, check manually for an update as it might be waiting for you without having surfaced the notification. And regardless of which one of the two you have, you should expect the OTA to weigh around 1.3-1.4GB so you better be on a fast and unlimited connection to download it.

Android 7.1.2 was officially released today, and the rollout has started for Nexus and Pixel devices (unless you have a Nexus 6 or 9). Besides the minor new features, the release also fixes several long-known problems.

Android 7.1.2 images and OTA files are now live for Pixel and Nexus devices

After just posting the April security patch builds based on Android 7.1.1 moments ago, Google has now published Android 7.1.2 builds for Pixel and Nexus devices. You can find the images here and the OTAs here. The Nexus Player and Pixel C started to receive 7.1.2 just days ago.

OTAs for the Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, and Nexus Player are live.

Android O is expected later this year, but there's still (at least) one more update to Android 7.1. Google released the first 7.1.2 Beta back in January, followed by a second beta in March. We've now received multiple reports of 7.1.2 being pushed to users outside the beta program.

Motorola released the Moto X Pure two years ago, as the North American equivalent of the Moto X Style. It happened about a month before the release of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and received the update about two months later. Motorola doesn't seem to care about fast updates these days, so it should be no surprise that the Moto X Pure is still waiting for Android 7.0/7.1 Nougat.

One of HTC's promises for the One A9 was that it would receive all updates within 15 days of Nexus devices. The first one or two security patches came on time, but the Taiwanese company virtually gave up after that. It took until January of this year for the US unlocked A9 to receive Nougat, and another month on top of that for the Sprint model. Now, the European A9 is receiving this long-awaited update.

Roaming isn't something that those of us who live in more populated areas encounter often, but it can be a common occurrence for people in more rural or less-developed places (or Europe, as many of you have pointed out). Android has always been pretty terrible at showing what kind of data connection you're roaming on in the status bar; thankfully, the latest 7.1.2 Nougat beta has brought this much-needed, yet simple update to this indicator.

Nextbit Robin official Android Nougat update starts rolling out

Nextbit started testing out its Android Nougat update last November through a closed beta program that required users to sign up. Today, a few months later, the final Nougat build is starting to roll to everyone, no beta sign-up needed.

The build being sent OTA is number 88 and it's based on Android 7.0 with the January security patch level. It brings all of Nougat's goodness including multi-window, bundled notifications, customizable quick settings, and more to the phone.
