[Hands-on] LG announces the LG V30S ThinQ, which is just a V30 with camera AI and more RAM

LG rolled the V30 out late last year with a few notable features, at least for LG. That phone had the first OLED panel on an LG phone in several years, and it didn't have the extra ticker display that defined older V-series phones. It turns out LG isn't done with the V30 yet. As rumors indicated, LG is releasing a new version of the V30 called the V30S ThinQ (yes, that's the name) with AI camera goodies. With a new name and features, you might expect this phone to be at least modestly different than the last V30. Well, ThinQ again.

OnePlus updating its 5 and 5T to play HD Netflix, but you have to send your phone back to get it

OnePlus' phones are a great value, but they've each individually had a few drawbacks. One negative they all had in common, though, was a DRM deficiency. None of the company's handsets supported the correct Widevine level required for HD playback in Netflix. Distress on the subject came to a head late last year, and OnePlus surprisingly announced that it would add the feature in the future. In a comment on OnePlus' forums today the company confirmed that it was now able to update handsets to support it, but the process will require that you physically send the phone back to OnePlus for the update.

[Update x2: Leaked photo] LG reportedly working on updated V30 with more storage and AI-powered 'LG Lens'

The LG V30 was somewhat of a mixed bag. It had a fantastic design, with excellent camera performance, a microSD card slot, wireless charging, and even a headphone jack. Unfortunately, the OLED screen suffered from quality issues, and the $830 asking price likely kept many potential buyers away. LG could be working on a slightly-upgraded version, according to a new report from ET News.

[Deal Alert] The DJI Spark with remote controller is $349 at B&H

When Jeff reviewed in super amazing detail the DJI Spark drone, he loved nearly everything about it from its portability to its build quality and resulting images, but two of his main concerns were related to the terrible Android app and the lack of a controller in the box. Back then, it would have cost you $499 to get the Spark alone and then $150 for the controller, which saves you from using the app a lot. Now, a mere 5 months later, both can be had in one neat bundle at B&H for $349 total. That's nearly half the price.
