Netgear spinoff Arlo has produced security cameras, smart floodlights, and even some cameras with tiny lights of their own. Now, there's a floodlight with a built-in camera. The new Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight has all the features of the recently released Pro 3 but adds a giant LED array to illuminate the camera's field-of-view.
This camera supports video resolutions up to 2K (2560x1440) with a 160-degree field-of-view. You can configure the LED floodlight to activate on movement or manually. The camera doesn't need that light to see what's going on in the dark, though. It has the same color night vision capabilities as the standard Pro 3 and Arlo Ultra.
Like Arlo's other cameras, the Pro 3 Floodlight is completely wireless. Arlo doesn't offer an estimate of how long the battery will last between charges, but other Arlo cameras are good for a month or two at least. battery life depends on how many clips the camera records, and in this case, how often the floodlight turns on.
The Floodlight Pro 3 launches this spring for $249.99. That includes 3 months of Arlo Smart with 2K cloud video and 30 days of storage. That's presumably the add-on camera price—there may be bundles with the hub and more cameras when the Pro 3 Floodlight launches.
Arlo has finally begun accepting pre-orders for the Pro 3 Floodlight.
