Razer has announced today that it will bring an all-new mobile-focused gaming controller to Android in partnership with Gamevice, a well-known mobile controller manufacturer. This upcoming device is known as the Razer Kishi, and Razer is boasting that it will support low-latency on Android through a hidden USB-C port. It's styled after the Razer Junglecat (released last year), which clearly borrows much of its design from Gamevice's controllers. It would also appear that Razer is positioning the Kishi as a low-latency device perfect for playing cloud-based games, which ties into a Razer collaboration with Nvidia's GeForce NOW game streaming service.

Details are still light, but we do know that the Razer Kishi should arrive sometime in early 2020, though so far, no precise date has been provided, and we still don't know the price either. It is worth noting that the Kishi controller will support clickable analog controls and thumbsticks on both sides of the phone, meaning the R3 and L3 buttons should work as expected. Razer has also mentioned that the controller will sport a "universal fit," thanks to Gamevice's design, so should suit a solid selection of phones, and let me tell you, I own a Gamevice, and even though its site says each controller only supports a few phone models, I've been able to slap mine onto any of my larger phones that contain a centered USB-C, which is a good sign for the Kishi since it looks to be designed similarly.

All in all, I'm happy to see that a new controller will come to Android soon, especially one that was created by Razer in partnership with Gamevice as well as Nvidia. While there is no arguing that there is already a solid selection of controllers out there that support Android, I've yet to find the perfect solution for my mobile gaming sessions, so I am definitely eager to see what Razer has up its sleeve. I suppose pricing will ultimately make or break the Razer Kishi, and as soon as we learn more about this device and its pricing, expect an update from yours truly.
