ROME: Total War has been available on iOS in some form since 2016. As always, the Android release is late to the party, but the good news is that the game is finally coming; you can expect it to land this winter for users in North America, Europe, Australia, and parts of Asia.

Feral Interactive is the studio that brought ROME: Total War to iOS, where its efforts were well received, earning praise for interface design and responsive controls; now that same company is working on the port for Android. It's worth pointing out that Feral has an extensive background with ports for many different platforms, so I have no doubt that ROME: Total War for Android will turn out just fine.

ROME: Total War will be coming to both the Google Play Store as well as the Samsung Galaxy Apps store. Pricing hasn't been confirmed just yet, but if you take a look at the iOS and Steam listings, you'll see that the game regularly retails for $9.99, so it's probably safe to assume the Android release will be priced similarly.

For a strategy game like ROME: Total War, the larger the screen the better, and handset restrictions may end up nudging users in that direction. I would also imagine that despite its age, this may be a more processor-taxing game, so the newer your device, most likely the better. Still, It's great to see such a fantastic strategy game finally making its way to Android. I know I can't wait to test this out once it finally lands on the Play Store.
