Timely software updates are all the rage these days. From security and stability to new features, there's always a marketable reason to prefer a rapid upgrade cycle. Plenty of OEMs like Samsung and LG have committed to frequent updates, and now the latter company is stepping things up, reiterating its commitment to consumers with a new "Software Upgrade Center" office in South Korea.

The new center is a literal, physical entity located in Magok-dong in western Seoul, and it's meant to drive future development and research for LG's software updates. It's also hoping to improve the quality of released updates through improved stability and compatibility testing (i.e., they'll test updates better).

With this new center, LG fans can expect faster and higher-quality updates, and the first target for the new endeavor is the LG G6, with an Android Oreo release planned in Korea later this month.
