The Xperia XZ hasn't been out for long in the United States, but its prices just keep dropping. Just a few days ago, this very phone went from its MSRP of $649.99 to as low as $581.98, but now, it's gone down another $80 or so to $499.99. That's a pretty damn good price for such a new device, even if you have to flash different firmware to get the fingerprint sensor to work.
That $499.99 will get you a 5.2" 1080p display, a Snapdragon 820, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage (with microSD expansion), a 23MP rear camera, a 13MP selfie cam, a 2900mAh battery, and IP65/68 water and dust resistance. These specs aren't the best of the best, but they're still very good, and far more than adequate.
All three colors (black, blue, silver) are available at this new, lower price, and this doesn't immediately appear to be a Cyber Monday-only deal. Since the device is shipped and sold by Amazon, two-day shipping is free. Quite honestly, if I had to choose between the XZ and the also-discounted $499.99 Moto Z, I'd go with the XZ for its nicer design (IMO), headphone jack, and IP rating. (Would a bunch of Sony haters say that?)
