Skype, for all its flaws, is one of the most popular VoIP and video chat services in the world. You can help make it a little better by joining Microsoft's new Skype Insiders Program. It's basically a beta program, but they don't call it that. There's also a separate standalone app that you can install alongside the regular one.

You have to register your Skype username in order to get (official) access to the beta app. Microsoft says that those in the Skype Insiders Program will be able to test out new features first, give feedback, and submit suggestions for new features. This app is not currently available in the Play Store at all, and maybe it never will be.

The first version of the beta app is v7.19 while the mainline app is v7.22. It's not clear if there are any noticeable changes in this first build. The only official way to get it is to go through Microsoft.
