Cricket Wireless is one of many pre-paid wireless providers in the United States. Today the company announced that their $50/month plan, as part of a limited time promotion, now offers 8GB of data along with unlimited talk and text. Previously, the plan offered 5GB of data at the same rate.

There are some catches to be aware of. Download speeds on LTE are maxed out at 8 Mbps, and 4G connections at 4 Mbps. As mentioned, this is a limited time offer, and changing/cancelling your plan will result in losing the promotion. You will have to visit a Cricket Wireless store, their site, or their support phone number to sign up for the promotion (even if you are already on the $50/month plan).
