Acer has launched three Android smartphones at IFA—the Iconia Talk S, the Liquid Z6, and the Liquid Z6 Plus. All of them are more budget-oriented, but they're quite different from each other.

Iconia Talk S.

The Iconia Talk S features a massive 7-inch IPS display, but has a very low 720p resolution. It's equipped with an unnamed quad-core processor, 4G LTE and dual-SIM capabilities, a 13MP rear camera, and a microSD slot with support for up to 128GB (officially). It will ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and will come pre-installed with the Microsoft Office Suite. It also seems like Pocket will come on the device, which is interesting. I can't imagine talking on the phone with one of these, but who talks on the phone these days, anyway?

Liquid Z6.

The Liquid Z6 has a 5-inch 1080p IPS display with 2.5D curved glass, a MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, a 2MP front-facing camera, and an 8MP rear-facing camera. No microSD slot is mentioned, but with just 8GB of storage, there had better be one. And 1GB of RAM? Come on, Acer.

Liquid Z6 Plus.

The Liquid Z6 Plus is the upgraded version of the standard Z6. It packs a 5.5-inch 1080p display with 2.5D glass, a MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a 5MP front-facing camera, and a 13MP rear-facing camera. It's also got a fingerprint scanner up front and a metal body. This variant seems like quite a solid device.

These devices will all be available later this year in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Asia). The Iconia Talk S will launch in September and cost €169, the Liquid Z6 in November at €119, and the Liquid Z6 Plus in December at €249.
