A smart home is every geek's dream, so it's great to see the idea becoming more and more of a reality, with Nest, Alexa, Google Assistant (soon), and Apple's HomeKit making our homes smarter and automated. Accessory maker Logitech, which already has the Harmony Remote, is adding to its range with the Logitech POP button and accompanying app.

The POP can control a lot of devices, from Phillips Hue lightbulbs to Sonos speakers, to door locks and blinds, plus of course the Harmony platform. Each button can be programmed with three individual commands which can then do a host of different things to control your home. Using the Android app, recipes can also be created, so multiple things can be turned on or off with one press of a button. Say you wanted a romantic dinner date with your significant other. You could set the lights to dim, close the blinds, and play some slow, classical music (if that's what you're into).

The Logitech POP Android app is mostly used to set the devices up and then create recipes. It's available on the Play Store now, while the Logitech POP home starter kit is available on Logitech's site for $99.99, including the plug-in bridge and two buttons in white. An add-on kit costing $39.99 is available containing one button, which is available in white, coral, teal, and alloy colors.
