The 5.5-inch Huawei Honor 5X Marshmallow update is finally rolling out, solving one of the major issues we had with this device in our original review. With only 16GB of on-board storage (which we figured closer to 8GB after counting the OS and bloatware), Android 6.0 Marshmallow's SD card capabilities make this a much more attractive offering, especially considering the price! We saw the 5X on eBay for $159.99 back in March, but this is by far the best deal yet: $119.99 on Amazon for an unlocked device that will work on AT&T and T-Mobile in the US.Just to recap our initial thoughts:

A $200 smartphone with a fingerprint scanner, a decent camera, solid battery life, and LTE... the Honor 5X represents a level of value that is difficult to argue against on features to dollars alone - this phone ticks a surprising number of boxes and does so at a price that is bound to raise the eyebrows of savvy online shoppers looking for the best deal they can get on a smartphone while maximizing on the specification sheet.

For that person, the Honor 5X is all but unassailable.

Half a year later, and at practically half of the original price, this point still stands.

In fact, at least until this sale ends, there is nothing that can really compete with the 5X on both specs and price. The Blu Life One X has pretty similar specs for 9.99, and we were satisfied with last year's model. There are some other cheap phones floating around (like the Lenovo K3 Note for 9.99), but Huawei is a pretty well-known player at this point in the game and the 4.4 star rating on Amazon beats the pants off both the Blu (3.7 stars) and the Lenovo (3.4 stars).

In any case, the Honor 5X seems like a steal at $119.99 and would be an excellent choice for an entry level device, as a gift, or as a backup phone for people who are prone to breaking things.

If you're looking for something a little bit more powerful (and expensive), the Huawei Nexus 6P is also on sale for 3.75. For more phones, smartwatches, gadgets and other goodies, don't miss the great deals going on now (today only!) over at Amazon.
