A leak posted by Sammobile, pictured above, claims that the next Galaxy will be unveiled on August 2nd at the Lincoln Center in New York at 11AM local time. Interestingly, the leaked image contains the text "The next edge is just around the corner" - suggesting an edge-branded device. There has been speculation and rumor suggesting the next Galaxy Note will be known as the Note 7 (because iPhone 7 and Galaxy S7) and have a curved display like its S7 edge cousin, though will be larger than the last Galaxy Note.

This has led Sammobile to speculate that the name of the upcoming device could be Galaxy Note7 edge, which, well, gross, but plausible. It's also unclear if it's just one device, or if Samsung is planning curved and flat versions of the new Note, though my money is on a one-phone unveil.

This image appears to be an official invitation, though to our knowledge no actual invites have gone out to this New York event. As for the legitimacy of the leak? Evan Blass claimed on June 2nd that the Note 6/7 launch was "almost exactly" two months away. So that lines up.

We know precious little about the next Galaxy Note device, but it's pretty rare that a Samsung phone makes it onto a stage without a properly large amount of information having already been disseminated across the web, so be on the lookout for Galaxy leaks over the coming weeks.
